Now let me preface this by saying I'm all about free speech, I don't have to like it, and when I don't it doesn't make me a hypocrite...to STIFLE it would.

So in what instances can I actually be offended without being a hypocrite? LOL
That's the question.
Another question.
Why do I have to give up being offended at things just because I promote or have designed for programs who have consenting adults doing things in front of a camera?

I have stated on this board many times that the proliferation of free porn on the net and how readily available it is without any kind of limits imposed on viewing is a bad thing.
In other words I can't walk into a grocery store and see free glimpses of some chick riding a cock on a magazine cover in plain view of everyone else who happens to be there.

So with that in mind when I walk down the Las Vegas strip and am handed ads for whores in front of my family...I AM OFFENDED, as is any reasonable person.

However since they are censored ads *no full frontal nudity* I respect that person's right to "free speech," and wouldn't make any attempts to have them stop.

Are you seeing my point here?

Disagreeing with something and being offended by it does not make me a hypocrite. Stopping Battus from wearing that shirt in public does.

let me preface by saying i will be general.

what i was trying to basically say about class is compared to the majority of the people outside the adult market most of them would point us out as classless because of our jobs. (ie you tell someone at the mall you promote Double Anal sites they will 99% of the time see you as classless)

now compared to Francks post with this and within the boundaries of the law imo, i stress IMO we shouldnt say anything about it because majority of people find us classless and most of us do things that are worse than wearing a shirt which is also in the legal boundaries of law (just like porn). so if 50% of people find it ok and 50% of people dont who is right? i do not know.

try to see how on different issues some people will find others being hypocritical. doesnt mean i think you are always a hypocrite.

now the IS MY OPINION, i never said or meant to directly say you couldnt have your own opinion. (i am not going to go back and disect the thread)

again i will say i wasnt directly calling you a hypocrite ( i only did because you called me a dumbshit :1orglaugh , try to understand that ).

am i answering your question or not? i am trying over here. :pimp

There is nothing funny about a blank T-shirt (unless you're a retard)

What he meant was that the sign on the T-Shirt was funny.

And said sign was about having sex six 3 year old child.
It you wear such sick things, and/or find it amusing, you need to be locked away from the society.

I know how people think of us outside this board...but honestly that is neither her nor there...know what I mean?

It does not apply. We are discussing this within the confines of this board and if we were to apply it to the outside world there are many jobs mainstreamers hold that I think is much more horrible than the job of a pornographer..and in some cases they are much more morally bankrupt.

So once again, just because I decide to do pornography does that mean I have to give up being offended?
My answer is NO. Regardless of whether or not mom and pop surfer is offended by monstercockmadness. I am not forcing that on them.

In this case Battus wore a shirt in public he knew would elicit a reaction.

I think this little community that people have built up here has corrupted their sense of normalcy. I've mentioned this on this board a few times as well..and the funny thing is Pradaboy brought it up...

Quote:

but why on this board where people watch beheadings, cats set on fire and all sorts of gore are people so uptight about morals when it comes to a fucking t-shirt?
I find all of that offensive. But this is a place where people think it's funny to post pics of turds in toilets, a woman defecating a stream of fluids into the air, a man exposing his lower intestine because he's stretched his anus to extreme measures.

This has become "normal" for people here. So yeah a shirt like this might seem tame when you're a boiling frog.

And if you don't get that reference boil a frog..do it slowly and they'll never jump out of the pan...my point is check where you are now as opposed to where you were 1-2-3-10 years ago. Is the shirt really funny? Is the shirt really okay to wear? Or have you changed your boundaries / mores etc?

Not you specifically..but people on this board in general.

LOL yeah right...no the shirt was created to elicit reaction regardless of what they really meant by it...and it does not negate the fact that it should not be worn at an adult convention where someone from the outside might misconstrue your intentions.

i understand what you are trying to say hopefully you try and understand what i am saying.

also to add, i never said it was funny, i dont think it is funny at all, i am just saying for me personally i am not casting any stones.

also what you are saying about 1-10 years ago, i have always been a little outside the box my entire life, my opinions have not really changed, i have been very firm in my beliefs ever since i was a young child, got me into trouble sometimes haha.

it isnt this board though, its societ in general, i mean look at the news daily and you can understand how people are decensitized.

its just like anything though society evolves, 50 years ago sex was barely accepted as a part of society. who knows what will be accepted as the norm in the next 50. :error

you see you are having a conversation with me, and not just rambling at me and i am trying my best to give you truthful answers. hopefully you try this method before calling me a "dumbshit". :disgust :winkwink: :1orglaugh

You're right, I'm at a different point then I was 5 years ago... but this is not only due to GFY. Take the news for example... bombings, torn off limbs, murders and whatever shit are perfectly normal to show. It wasn't like this... it's just the decay of our civilisation. We are shown tv shows where it is funny to hurt others, where lives are exposed and people are hurt just for our pleasure. Don't tell me GFY is the cause... it's merely a reflection of society.

Eliciting a reaction. I like that.

I'm curious to know if anyone's brave enough to wear an "I hate N*****S" shirt in an all-black neighborhood.

I'm guessing THAT would elicit a reaction.

Sorry Franck. I've never had a problem with any of your posts, but I'd find the shirt tasteless and circumstances in which you wore it tactless.

I'm far from anti free speech, but that's something that crosses the line imo.

heh when i saw the thread i didnt see the initial quote so i thought it said

i swear i didn't know she was 3" ..

Meaning she was 3 inches tall lol i didnt get it..

SmokeyTheBear 05-12-2005 11:21 AM

I wonder if it would be legal to have a shirt that said...

" GIVE ME YOUR MONEY BITCH "

" I HAVE A GUN "

Then you could just walk around looking scary and hope people throw money at you.

BlueWire 05-12-2005 11:24 AM

dude, are you that big of a tard?

With how much child rape/molestation/murder in the news lately i swear you'd be better off wearing a shirt that said, "N*ggers Suck" ...except the real thing...neither are good though :Oh crap

Holy shit, that would be badass to watch.

I bet the person wouldn't last 8 minutes.

CDSmith 05-12-2005 11:33 AM

Well, you wouldn't catch me wearing a shirt like that anywhere much less out in public. It's about perception, not about you being a pedo for wearing a shirt. Perception.... as in some people will find it amusing, but I'm thinking that most would find it disgusting. Some of those who find it disgusting would probably think you ARE a pedo, while others probably think that since it is a porn convention well "there goes another sick perverted porn webmaster"........ perception.

If that perception doesn't bother you more power to you Franck-formerly-known-as-Battuss. Wear it around you own hometown all you want, but at an industry function?

Doesn't look good for the industry as a whole.

PRESS RELEASE ON THE MATTER
Quote:

Internet's most visited t-shirt company, T-Shirt Hell, removes most offensive shirts - Apologizes.
LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 1, 2005?Las Vegas based internet company T-Shirt Hell.com used to be home to the most offensive t-shirts on the internet. With shirts that made light of everything from 9/11, to School Shootings, to the recent Tsunami; T-Shirt Hell truly lived up to its name.

But as of today, that?s no longer true. Founder, Owner, and President Aaron Schwarz has decided to take down the most offensive shirts in his inventory. In fact, he?s removed the entire ?Worse Than Hell? category from his website.

?It was always my goal to make outrageous t-shirts.? said Schwarz. ?It was always my intention to make people laugh. But a lot of people were needlessly hurt and upset by the shirts on our website, and for that I want to apologize. Schwarz is ready to put his money where his mouth is. This year he is looking to donate up to 30% of his profits to charities that are involved with the groups, and events he used to make fun of, if they will accept them.

When asked where he goes from here, Schwarz was optimistic. ?Worse Than Hell? comprised less than 20% of our shirts. We still have plenty of insane, dirty, twisted shirts that you won?t find in the local mall. As for our loyal fans, I hope they?ll continue to be just that: loyal.

I started this web site on my terms and will continue to run it as I see fit. Removing shirts that affect many people in a negative way is just not exciting to me anymore and that doesn?t make me lame or a sell out. It would only be a sell out if I sold shirts that I no longer agreed with just to make a profit. It would be lame to let someone else tell me how to run my business. I still have a great team. We still have the best artists, and the most talented writers, and we will continue to make the most kick ass t-shirts around.

I think the t-shirt in question may have been among the category removed.

Humor and taboo have been uneasy bedfellows for a long, long time.

Who keeps them in bed together but the people who laugh or say "Oh, no!" I do not know -- :2 cents:

just more hypocricy in this business....you're only as open minded as YOUR sites and feelings allow...

You just nailed it! When a grown man wears a shirt like this one is QUITE obvious he needs someone to acknowledge his existence. It's quite sad one must make jokes about having sex with children to satisfy this need for attention.

As the father of a 5 year old son and uncle to a 3 year old niece, I'd have to say I wouldn't have found the shirt funny had I seen it worn in person. I'm sure I would have said something about it, and probably wouldn't have been too nice with my words. And a blow to the face wouldn't have been out of the question had the response to my verbal lashing been innappropriate.

Franck, you made a big mistake even purchasing that shirt. WTF possibly made you think it was a good idea to spend money on it?

And to Eros: every word you have spoken in this thread is the truth and I give you two thumbs up!

While the GFY shirt is probably innappropriate too, there's a big difference between a shirt that says gofuckyourself.com and "I fucked a 3 year old because I didn't realize she was 3", which is what Franck's shirt is trying to say.

It's sad that the difference has to be explained to you.

hollymoss 05-12-2005 11:50 PM

Yes - True a it's just a t-shirt!
But the message it conveys is soo NOT responsible.

I guess it saddens me .. that some peeps don't think of the adult industry as real business. Just a playground to fuck around.

Passing the POOP into someone elses backyard
mmm i guess i can say more .. but in summary just NOT COOL.
