This is not true. Many of the webmasters who will be attending the Amsterdam show will be saving up for that trip. It's a huge thing for a US webmaster to go to. Not everybody can afford to go to Europe twice a year.

I'm not thinking "pimpishly"...I'm thinking about the average webmaster who is not a pimp at all.

Evan, think back to when you were struggling in this business. You put so much into it to just barely get by and now you have a chance to go to Europe to catch a show in Amsterdam and a Players Ball in London...vs.....Having to choose only 1.

Flying 50 people from Amsterdam is a nice gesture....But not when there won't be 50 people there because the show was in September and the people have left by then.

Pardon me for thinking of others instead of simply thinking of what I am capable of.

Either way, I would be interested in attending as well. Just tying to open some eyes to other options. :2 cents:

I can get a ticket to London from Oklahoma City for $450. That is the same price as a ticket to Montreal or Cancun.
I'm down for it.
Saw 50 last year in Cancun and was less than impressed. He sat a couch onstage during most of the performance with chicks giving him lapdances while his crew sang most of the lyrics for him. He may be good in the studio but his live performance left a lot to be desired. Half the people don't watch the stage anyway, they're too busy having fun and moving to the music to watch. It could be Memorex and most people wouldn't notice. It's all about the beat and the flow of the party.

i would choose the players ball and then take a cheap ryan air flight r/t for a day to amsterdam b4 exiting europe then. i think the dividing line is more defined than you do and when we were struggling we would not take distant trips that's for sure.

You are not thinking like the average webmaster.

This is not about going to Amsterdam...It's about attending a webmaster show in Amsterdam.

And yes, many people will be going who are struggling.....Just like they do when they all flock to Internext.

You've been on Joe E's jet and I've only been to his house. Big deal. That doesn't make you any better than I nor does it make me any better than somebody who has never even met the man.

Are you trying to impress me for some reason? Please don't bother. This thread is not about you or me.

Not trying to spin anything Evan. I'm simply trying to figure out where you were coming from. Don't get your panties in a wad or they will be more difficult for me to remove with my teeth. :Graucho

stop pointing out facts dammit - that would be worth going to of course. i'm thinking of the other show there at the hotel crapsnopoloski

AaronM 05-11-2005 11:45 PM

Also note that the average webmaster would be going to Amsterdam in hopes of establishing new business relationships with industry people from Europe as well as experiencing the city.

If I remember correctly, he is teaming up with VIP and The Hun for this one.

It's actually the ONLY show that I have plans to attend this year. Not saying I won't be at others...Just have not decided 100% on any of them. Although it looks like San Diego is a 50/50.

Apache_A 05-12-2005 12:07 AM

The DJ's aren't my bag, but we're comming to Erotica anyway so I guess we may as well pop in.

Gonna have to fine myself some shiney shoes though.

Apache_A 05-12-2005 12:09 AM

Yeah just got into the office and I am there like....bollocks...

We have the venue confirming over the next two days. Even though I was with the owner, he only owns 30% the rest is owned by a brewery and a media company. He reckons everything should be fine though.

With regard to ibill money paying for stuff ie 50 or flying people in I think I just saw my bollocks pass my face travelling to the roof after I was middle wicket hit.

I will still stand on doing the 20 people out of my own money.

Lets just see what the venue can do.

I reckon we should all be sweet.

Who would be up for it? It would be at a central London venue of 1000 capacity.

If people are up for it then we will do this with D-Money and bring the legend that is the Players Ball to London Town.

This will be a party that is 80% surfers and 20% industry. Industry will have a separate area at the top of the venue with tables and a meal.

I can easily pack this with surfer I am just wondering if webmasters would be interested in attending?

Hi

I would love to come to the event.

If anyone is stuck I will have a few beds/sofas for people for people to crash on.

I cant make promises because I will be moving over the summer, but I will be living at most 30 mins from the venue so it would be mean to not offer something when I know what the details are.

Sarah_Jayne 05-12-2005 04:15 AM

Dude...for £250k get the streets or Dizzie..or proabably both and make it feel really London :)

That's very generous of you Damian! I recently moved to Bournemouth. If you want to enjoy the beach this summer you're more than welcome to stay over. :thumbsup

Theo 05-12-2005 04:45 AM

if its more like a webmaster event yes, if it's just going for PAUL O. probably not cause i can see him in other places as well.

Tipsy 05-12-2005 04:47 AM

Works for me :) We'll be there barring family crap getting in the way (rare but with relations on another continent it sometimes happens).
