Fucked over by a hosting company

When I signed up with my current hosting company (after numerous bad experiences in the past), I was assured that porn content was fine as long as it's legal (i.e. no kids and no goats).

They've now flicked the switch, claiming that my content is "obscene". They won't discuss it or say what's changed (the site has been up several months).

Their terms give them the right to suspend the service at any time and for any reason, so apparently there's nothing I can do.

I've paid them up front for the year so I stand to lose quite a bit.

Two requests for help...

1) Has anyone been in a similar situation and won the argument with their hosting company? What tactics did you use?

2) Can anyone recommend a company that will give me a good deal and, more importantly, will treat me like a customer and not a dirty pervert? (It should ideally be one outside the UK - I'm fed up of dealing with companies here. The US is probably best?)

Basically, in your current situation, you won't win, you accepted the TOS and they could terminate you at any time, now, go back and re read them thoroughly, see if the terminate includes forfeiting of funds, you might be able to recover your money back...

I agree with ISPrime, but watch out for their virtual accounts - they restrict wlizer to updating once a day and it doesn't keep any record of stats past the previous day now.

CPU useage problems apparently, but they are cheap and their tech support is first rate.

My hosting company has backed down and reinstated me (I'm pretty proud of that!) but I'm still going to switch hosts soon. Any further suggestions would be appreciated.

Ips are just 0.50 cents per extra ip over your allocation.

And if you have a problem you can easily get them on the phone .. They're pretty kewl

Depends on how high your bandwidth will be as to if their plans will suit you better than someone elses... But atleast now you know of another kewl host to look at

Ps. Paying more than a month in advance with someone you have no experience with is VERY RISKY, especially if you needed to ask them about putting adult content on the site, and the TOS had them being allowed to terminate accounts at any time without due cause and refunds.
