Simple really. :1orglaugh

I dont understand how people are making all of this money these days.
I guess you have to have a big network of friends or something.
Im not afraid of hard work but i spin my wheels working on things that dont make money

Dont give up. It sometimes goes like that. About a year ago I doubled my income every month overnight with just a really small tweak to the way I was doing things (I mean small). Then about 6 months ago I woke up, did something which took me a couple of days and doubled my income every month again. Sometimes things work, sometimes they dont. When they do its like a gold rush

Aren't you the guy who argued that no surfers care about exclusive content, this because overture returning very few searches for "exclusive porn".

one of them has been there for 2 month's.
check out Ultra Hard Films, and Envy pictures on AVN.com and see for yourself.
So my point is if you are using exclusive content on your sites, but are not in the DVD distribution market you are losing money it would cost another $2,500 to get a $20K revenue stream.
If your are connected with a distrbutor who can push the product for you.
That would be "us".....
not we

How much do you get per copy sold??

$8 to $12 is the going rate for wholesale "new release" DVD's

There is a changing of the guard coming in the adult industry.
There are mainstream porn companies dying everyday, because they won't diversify, aside from the fact that they pride themselves on being thieves.

I paid my way into the distribution market after working in that end of the biz for 7 years. Now I own the fuckin company.
We have a complete solution that will knock the bottom out of custom shoot prices, and offer "Honest distribution" at the same time.
I don't understand why you guys can't see this. How many paysites does redlight have??? and they are clocking a grip, what if someone was connected enough to provide distribution to a company that had 10 paysites.
and multiple dvd lines at the same time????
We are prepared to do exactly that, any takers???

Lead, follow, or get out of the way

a lot of ppl seem to think if you're not making more than 4k, why are you in adult. well like some have mentioned, most average ppl don't even make 3k a month from their regular jobs. i never intended on making big money when i started doing this, i just hated working 40 hours a week in a factory. there have been times where i made far beyond 4k and most months i exceed it by quite a bit. there is nothing wrong with making 4k/a month in this biz. you don't have be a 'baller'. maybe where you guys come from you can work in an office and make 100k a year? but for most, 4k is an increase from their normal salary. also considering the guy only makes his money from tgp/mpg maybe those who make their money via content, paysites, dvds, modelling ect shouldn't count because obviously its a more lucrative area than being a basic tgp type affiliate.

Exactly. Personally I don't need to make $1 million or even $100K a year to be happy. I've guess that's because I've learn to live on much much less durring my life. For me $4K a month would mean $38K a year AFTER taxes. Hell the average American doesn't bring that home BEFORE taxes. Now I understand that if you have a family of 4 and you live in Boston or San Fransisco or some other high priced place $38K is not going to be enough but most Americans don't live I those type places.

Good points...

When people like SleazyDream come into these threads and laugh at people for making only 10K a month and being happy about it, I find it funny and sad for SD...

The average American household makes under 4K a month. So anything more than that is "extra".

People who have a hand in content producing or paysites do not count since they are business owners... I think the real meaning behind the big boys asking, "If you aren't making 4K a day, why be in this industry," isn't that you need to make 4K a day to work here, it is that they can't understand why someone wouldn't open paysites or content companies and be their own bosses.

Most people come here from the work force. They are used to taking orders and not giving them. Having zero responsibility. Having no overhead. Their employer never asked for money before putting them on the work schedule like you do here (paid spots, hosting, gallery design, etc)...

Stop talking to much shit about the 95% who don't want to put up the extra effort or who don't want added responsibilities and yet still manage to contribute 50% of the gross revenue.

I'm not sure people will give up their true income figures and traffic methods that easily :thumbsup

DutchTeenCash 12-30-2005 04:15 AM

every decent progr owner makes that, cant speak bout aff though, but lookin at DTC sales, there are a LOT who make more then 4k a month

JimmiDean 12-30-2005 04:36 AM

and then some to say the least.
Paysites rock

Tat2Jr 12-30-2005 04:38 AM

$4k a month??? YIKES. People really need to stop posting so much, and start working more.

bigdog 12-30-2005 04:45 AM

Some people will be happy with 4k a month others need 4k a day

MikeSmoke 12-30-2005 05:06 AM

You're kidding right? How would I be able to support my penchant for hot models and all the costs that come along with keeping 4 of them happy at one time, while still paying taxes, insurance and my car note.

Yada yada yada.... 99% of this board doesn't make more than 4K a month.

my server cost me $300/month.... I do nothing and spend so little time on this shit and still I make a few bucks :)

phogirl69 02-13-2006 02:48 PM

I pull over 10k gross a month easily submitting galleries with all my sponsors combined. I think I would be happy with 20k a month cause that way I can travel as much as I want plus shop all the time and not have to think about money as much... I'm not there yet, but hoping to be there soon.

Before porn I was working full time in an office and only made 30k a year (around $14 and some odd cents an hr) so making 6 figures is a big improvement for me :helpme BTW, I do think 30k is the average salary in the U.S today and I was able to live on 30k fine (by myself). Of course I couldn't afford really nice clothes or fancy things back then, but I was able to live just fine.

that was a good post :2 cents:

ilbb 02-13-2006 03:18 PM

hehe funny thread...

I know many bastards doing $100.000/month in this biz :)

Temp1 02-13-2006 03:45 PM

I think this would be a substantiative discussion if there is a clarification between gross revenue and net revenue. Terminology like 'pulling down', 'bringing in' and 'doing' doesn't really say much.

biskoppen 02-14-2006 06:25 AM
