spacedog, this may help:
What is the "Pass Subdirectories" option? This feature lets you decide how you would like file path information entered after your domain to be handled by our network. Off If you choose not to use "Pass Subdirectories", file names or subdirectories entered after your domain will be ignored. Visitors will be directed straight to the destination website you specify. For example: For the domain: my-example.com Destination address set: http://www.freehost4you.com/user Visitor enters: http://www.my-example.com/file2.html Visitor ONLY redirected to: http://www.freehost4you.com/user Visitor NOT redirected to: http://www.freehost4you.com/user/file2.html On If you choose to use "Pass Subdirectories", then file names or subdirectories entered after your domain will be used to access files and subdirectories on your destination site. For example: For the domain: my-example.com Destination address set: http://www.freehost4you.com/user Visitor enters: http://www.my-example.com/file2.html Redirected to: http://www.freehost4you.com/user/file2.html Which option should I choose? If you chose to use this feature, visitors who enter inaccurate information following your domain name will receive an error message instead of being redirected to any part of your website. If visitors enter subdirectories and filenames after your domain, they will only be redirected if they have entered this information exactly. If you chose not to use this feature, your visitors will not be able to target specific files within your site. However, visitors will always arrive at your destination website - no matter what text they enter following your domain and even if they make mistakes. found it here: http://www.mydomain.com/services/mydomain/webforwarding Nz |
