And what agreement are you talking about, do you have some agreement that lets you remove someone's name AND replace it with your own?

Removing it is one thing, but your name got smeared when you replaced it with yours. All I did was find out about it.

I don't care what your friends do. Maybe you can ask them about the definition of copyright on paper, film, or as a record on the internet.

Anthony...I did have everything running from my site as examples. That is exactly why I had them running from my own site. I think AST just remembered that site name and typed it in rather than going to my site and finding the link that I had to it. I have been designing for a long time now and consider myself to be very proessional and easy to work with.

Yes, you're right.

Like I said I was showing it to a potential client and I saw how my wife had been removed and they had claimed the copyright. I'm tired of her getting shit on for her work, she's a hell of a designer and has never fucked anyone.

There was never any money changing hands for many of those designs, and the ones that were was minimal.

It's true that MDB didn't commission her to design them.

It's also true that they claim copyright which is not theirs to claim. Even now, they still do.

I don't care if I have a bad rep and I don't care if she's too quiet to step up and say something. She just told me today that she knew they removed her months ago.

That's fucked up.

They have and I have gotten shit for people saying I did the same thing.

I bought a site from someone here and it turns out that he got all the work done on spec, in return for links to the designer on the site. This was not mentioned to me at the time of the sale, or I wouldn't have made the purchase.

Unless you had a contract with them or the original owner, they should be able to do with their purchase whatever they choose. Unless it was in their contract to keep the links up, they're not bound to.

The sites were not free to them. If I'm not mistaken, AST has some sort of connection to CSW.

I have built a number of sites for others. I can pull them up right now and see "Copyright 2005 Some Company Name" right now. Do I care, no skin off of my teeth. They paid me, they can do what they want with it.

I don't see why you're make such a big deal out of it, unless it's just that you thrive on drama. They own the sites, there's nothing you can do or force them to do without hurting yourself in the longrun. Expecially if you haven't gone about securing your copyright in the proper fashion. If you have, shut them down...don't bring it to the boards. If you haven't, you're up shit's creek I guess.

Had you acted rationally and reasonbly, it looks like they would have been more than happy to help you out. Instead, you handled this completely wrong and now have fucked your wife out of even more work.

Just think before you type. Perhaps this wouldn't be such a big mess if you had done that for even a second.

No offence geared your way at all dude but when a site owns a design (which they do because your wife designed it for Tam and Tam sold the sites all to these guys) they are the copyright holders on it unless there were special circumstances in writing that the creater holds all intelectual rights and credits.

When I design sites for clients they put their own copyright on the pages. It doesn't mean they are taking credit for my work but stating that they own the intelectual property which is design, layout and texts. Even if I built it for free, which I have

Maybe you feel this is different since she did them for free, however, all that would really be due is credit, copyright is a seperate thing altogether.
