Nope, don't sell them yet. This was shot at Canon Beach on the Northern Oregon Coast.

Nice Aaron

It very well may be the same rock. Goonies was shot all around that area. It's been so long since I've seen that movie that I don't know if it is the same or not but it is very likely.

Well..Tonight was one of those times.

The first image shows the date and time that this pic was taken. At 10:20pm it was pitch black on the Oregon coast. I had to guess where the huge ass rock was because I couldn't even see it in the camera viewfinder.

Nice long exposure...You can see the stars streaking in the sky.

I love this shot....But I just got home from a long ass drive and now, I'm going to bed.

Enjoy.

actually.. i was gonna say it's a nice shot..... only thing i recommend when shooting stars is use the timer or an external trigger as i call it so the camera doesn't shake to get the stars in focus.. and try not to center the shot so the you dont have a main focus so the eye moves around and sees image as a whole rather just the hill :thumbsup

That's why I own and used this:

http://www.canoncompanystore.com/epa...&Category=2146

And thank you for teaching me all about the rule of thirds. Never heard of composition before.

Perhaps you missed the part about it being pitch black and I could not even see the rock through the viewfinder?

Would you prefer that I take it into photoshop and crop it to better suit your liking?

no actually.... i didn't read the whole thread to see what you did and what lighting you had... and i wasn't talking about 'the rule of thirds' ... trying to figure out why the stars are out of focus if you used a remote..

You "didn't read the whole thread" huh?

Seems to me that I posted this info on the very fist post to this thread.

Maybe I'm misreading my words though....... :glugglug

Well, I'm walking out the door to see XXX now. I look forward to reading more of your composition and equipment suggestions when I return.

Wow....thinking of being there...it kinda reminds us how small and vulnerable we are.
