What is your point? I'm hoping you're not saying that you think I wrote this, as that would prove you didn't read the post before replying. |

It was still a LONG time ago....I don't cry about how blacks got our asses beat in the LATE sixties during the civil rights movement...Shit happens and I doubt that anybody on this board had anything to do with it. |

lol hang on to that great comeback line.. It nearly distracts us from your lack of substance.. |
My father did 3 tours in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot and had numerous friends shot down, killed, and taken captive. He will not even mention the name Jane Fonda and if she comes on TV, he'll immediately change the channel as he mumbles, "Stupid bitch." under his breath.
He spent 35 years in the military as an Intelligence Officer and is not too quick to pass judgement. However, he has passed judgement on Jane Fonda and he feels that she betrayed our troops and should be hanged. She does not deserve to be a Woman of the Century! :321GFY |
By the way, Great post Donovan. :thumbsup

You guys should also read the article Snopes has about the Vietnam war incidents:
http://www.snopes.com/military/fonda.asp And if you believe this is some left wing article to make her look good, you obviously need to read better, as nothing in this article makes her look good. BUT, it is important to separate facts from fiction, and I don't get why people feel the need to make up stuff on top of the stuff that really happened to make her look worst then she did. Do they feel that people won't think she's a bitch if they don't make up stuff like her giving POW slips to the North Korean? Anyway... this is the kind of stuff that only gets passed around on the internet since everyone can publish anything they want to push their agenda without any fear of consequences. The same thing happens in politics every day now and this is the reason it is getting so hard now to find the real facts in the pile of bullshit. |

DonovanPhillips post about 3/4 down And about that snopes story: |
http://www.snopes.com/military/fonda.asp --- that's a well-written article and a very good read. Shews there is some bogus misinformation in the "email", but it also shows there is much truth in parts of it as well.
Jane Fonda's exploits and words during that time and since are well documented. Those of you challenging the validity probably weren't around back then I suppose. Then again, some youngsters believe WWII and the lunar landing are both hoaxes. |
Again, read post #31.

what a tool.. Tony404 asked Donovan how did he knew if she really did that (social security numbers) .. And you responded that you SAW IT on TV.. when all you saw was her shaking hands and a guy giving her the finger... lol And now you are claiming the snopes article is not accurate and partisan? Ok champ... keep thinking you dont lack substance but others do.. I'll be waiting for another of your witty one-line comeback.. |

http://urbanlegends.about.com/librar...aa110399b.htm# "Claim: A POW spat at Fonda, for which he was brutally beaten. Status: FALSE. Current Results This story is attributed in the email to former Air Force pilot Jerry Driscoll, who says it's false and did not originate from him. I wasn't able to speak with him directly, but Mike McGrath and Paul Galanti, fellow officers of the Nam-POWs organization to which Driscoll belongs, told me he unequivocally disavows the story. [UPDATE: After this commentary was written I received personal confirmation from Jerry Driscoll that the story is indeed bogus ? as he put it, "the product of a very vivid imagination."] Mike McGrath, currently serving as the president of Nam-POWs, has worked hard to help Driscoll and Carrigan squelch the false rumors circulating under their names. "They would like to get their names removed but the story seems to have a life of its own," he told me. "There are a lot of folks out there who would love to have a story like that to hang their hat and their hate on." |

Anyway... as I've already said in my previous post, what is annoying is not people bashing Jane Fonda, which she deserves for what she did, but only that people just make up stuff on top of real events to push their agenda further. If only they stuck to the facts, they could let people make up their mind based on reality instead of fiction... |
I can tell you from personal experience.I was in the service during Vietnam.Jane Fonda was clearly wrong for what she did,but her attitude towards vets was not unique. She was only the mouthpiece for many, many young people of that era.
Coming home from the service during Vietnam was not at all like Desert Storm. There were no parades or heroes. :( |
I got laid by an ex Navy :)
(I love being single ) |
you know, some of you need to take a serious look at your opinions. you may not agree with what she said, but she has the right to say it. regardless of wether it is offensive or not.

I'm 39 fucking years old. |
It doesn't matter to me whether the , what did they call it? Police action? was justified or not, not anymore. It's been too long to debate who was right, who wasn't....
What does matter to me is that Ms. Jane Fonda did what she did.....went to Hanoi, as an American Citizen.....and then did what she did. She was wrong. And, there are deaths on her head as a result of her actions. I'm with you Donnie. |
I remember that bitch. I hope she slides under a truck and dies choking on her own blood.
But, you know, that's just me. |
People wanted peace, not war.
Fonda Rocks. She a civilian proved that diplomacy was possible during Vietnam. She was the only one of a small handful in entertianment that spoke about giving peace a chance in a war that was botched and fueled with propaganda. Not to mention a war that was not worth fighting and dying for by any means. The ones that stood up and spoke a message were chastised and lied about and suffered huge defamation by the media. Much like today's war in Iraq. |
Am I traitor when I say that Bush is a liar and a thief?
That we are fighting a war where real men and women are dying for nothing but oil and the oil rich industry. Its all true... America is in another war not worth fighting for and dying for. Besides... Gas is almost 3 bucks now... Thats great. Allah Ackbar! |

Now that she has a book published and has alegedly found "Jesus", she apologised for her "misjudgement." Not for the lives that were lost as a result of her actions. The guy back east at the book signature hour for her and spit a wad of chewing tobacco in her kisser gets a :thumbsup from me and many others. And he was not a tobacco user! |
Kill that hahahaha
