Okie Dokie folks, Last Night was Freaking Awesome. To all of our "Regs" and to those who just joined last night, we managed to have the BIGGEST Game yet!! I'll be there. Yesterday was my WORST night ever. Was the 10th player out on the late game, a little better on the early game but not much. With all these new people playing, there are some really adventurous newbies! They scare me. Any of you who have been playing with me know that I play conservative cards - has done fairly well for me until last night!

So what about the rest of you - are you a chance taker - or do you like to do the slow, wait until you have something build?

I don't consider myself a noob, but I'm no pro either... I do like playing against tight players though, I find generally they're quite predictable, especially more so in a tournament versus limit, what I normally play.

In tournaments people will seldom either raise preflop, or at least a significant amount. Especially in the early rounds, calling the blind or double the blind with "non premium" hole cards (unsuited connectors, any two suited, etc) can pay off depending how many people are in the pot, what the flop looks like, etc... If a "tight" player only tends to call with face cards, you can stand a good chance trapping them with two low pairs, or bluffing them out of a low flop.

Granted I won't play this way against a hefty raise, but at least in these nightly gfy tourneys, no one raises premium hands and thus allows anyone to limp in with any two, sometimes catching monsters.

Yea, thanks to the cocksucker who went all in after the flop with a pair of 6s and caught a flush on the river to take half money or I would have won that tourney last night.

I like to play 'tight' as well. Problem with free money tables is that everyone plays so reckless (last night I saw some asshat go all in on a 2-9 unsuited before the flop) it makes it hard to play good poker.

After the late game last night I went on Party Poker and got in on a WSOP qualifier for a $10 buy in. 197 people and I finished 8th. The top six each got a paid buy-in for a WSOP satellite (worth $333), I got $3.60 . The play at that final table was very tight though, you would have loved it.
