How many GFY'ers have IPODS! POST HERE if you do

Im tottaly in love with my 40 GIG IPOD Photo! What model do you have? What acceories do you have? How full is it? Did you win yours? Did you blow the up the factory earphones like I did?

Here;s a quick tip,
I would not recoment the photo option it s a waste of money thou. I never use it.

I do have a concern thou I have been having a great time with it but yesterday I plugged it into my home computer I wanted to update it and play some new tunes for a road trip however it didnt reconzie it. I tried different usb ports, i rebooted the computer and the ipod itself too. No luck.

uUually itnues starts up and it does the update autimatuically. The computer didnt even reconize it as an external drive. GRRRRRRR

So i thought I was going crazy and I broguth it to my work computer which is much newer and has more ram then my home computer and it didnt reconize it either. I wonder why this is.

There is NO damage to the cord that i can see and The ipod is babied and has never left its case and plays tunes no problem

ANy suggestions my fellow ipod users?

i've had an ipod mini for about two weeks now and love it..6gb, silver...just enough to carry around with me and go on flights, etc.

I do think they should call the headphone 'mug phones'..you can just look at a crowd and tell who has an Ipod on them.

I have the 20 gig as you know and I love it! But, I have lots of people saying that what happened to you is not as un common as one would think. It happened to me once, I put tons of new music on Itunes and plugged in my ipod and left it alone. CAme back and figured it was done updating and took it on a long airplane ride, to realize NOTHING had updated it didn't even do anything. Brought it home and tried it again and all is well.

I know this happens a lot to other people as well.. one of the major complaints I guess.

ipod sucks...i know, ive had the first 2 generations of ipods.

my Archos Gmini 400 is 40x better.

it does everything the ipods does, it views photos AND PLAYS VIDEOS, records. its a hair thicker and a dime heavier, same cost. cant beat that

I have a 15 gig Ipod and used an Itrip to play in my car... Just had the BMW/IPod hookup installed and it kind of sucks... It does not display the name of the songs only a number.. you can have your presets (1 thru 5) do custom playlists and preset 6 will do your whole library. The sound is better then the Itrip but you lose a lot of functionality.

Just my 2 cents ;)

Why not? Digital camera power users have an excellent source of HD space, no? (naïve question)

Sounds like you should take it in to your nearest Apple store to be looked at....they're marketed for the PC world so should be 100% compatible.

Mine is a Mk I 4GB ancient model and it gets used every single day. Has been every day for the last 3 years and is serving me proud

I got the 40GB and it's fantastic. The ultimate baby noise canceller on airplanes. Worth the bread, just for that.

Updating between different itunes libraries is a bit of pain in the ass, but ipodlounge.com can help get that sorted out.

Also, get the hack that allows you to transfer songs between computers.

I've got a 20 GB ipod. I traded it to a guy for a stick of 256 MB memory. It's great for planes, fishing, etc.

The FM thing for the car rocks too...I always borrow Marc's for that.

I have the Pink Mini. My husband has the 40 gig one. He has 1000 plus songs on it. I have about 300 so far. I'm still rating my library and making playlists.

We have the car hookups things.

We haven't bought everything we want to buy, but I won't live without mine.

Never put your headphones through the wash though.. totally ruined.

I went with a 20gb iRiver. Its as small as an ipod, but does pictures and video, has a tuner, and cost me a lot less. Much nicer product, in my opinion.
