Sam - in the 6 years we ran our solo girl paysite - we watched our stats very carefully and we monitored the traffic coming at at the front and we carefully charted how much ended up at the join page.
We ran with a 5 page tour - we ran with a three page tour - we even tried a two page tour and now it's just a very large AVS site we have a one page tour.
Our conversions sucked on the 5 page tour because we lost around 25% of the surfers for every page of the tour. It wasn't much better on the four page tour but by god once we hit the two page tour we were laughing with conversions at 1:20.
Now the AVS tour is just one page we're doing even better. Now that experience has been garnered over 6 years of filtering and tweaking till our nails bled.
What fucking experience has that big mouthed moron got in running an amateur site?

BTW - it's well known that blue is a great color ....... for mature sites - I bet he didn't tell you that when he designed your site!

homeless? thats a new one... nah.. i would never be homeless because i would always set aside rent money.... what i have done though is invest nearly 14 grand into this venture.. and enough money for some months of rent and other living expenses.... so i gave up my summer to make this happen... (keep in mind the cost for this site was so high was because of initial startup stuff.. like incorporating,visa fee,nats, etc etc ) next site won't cost nearly as much.... but i really wanted to go on a vacation with my girlfriend this summer but doesn't look like thats possible now.. oh well... work now and hopefully by next summer i'll have accomplished something.... i always learn best by jumping in the deepend and making a couple mistakes... but learn a lot fast then doing it from the start.... 7 months ago i didn't even know what a tgp wasOriginally posted by Shooting_Manic
