                      I was hoping that you'd tell me what affiliate programs to sign up for and then design some galleries for me, host them along with some front ends and FPA's and then send me tons and tons of traffic that converts 1:3.

                                      There are people who make a living buying google adwords and sending the traffic straight to their sponsors.

                                                                      Personally I prefer exclusive content. I've made TONS of money promoting sites that have exclusive content....they convert and retain better.

                                                                      However, there are some programs out there that are very successful that only use purchased and leased content in their paysites.

                                                                      The reason most non-exclusive sites fail is because they're created by newbies, who buy a "content blowout" deal and then get a $400 paysite design and then do nothing but submit TGP galleries and try to get people to sign up for their 50/50 CCbill program.
                                                                      That's not a business plan that's very likely to succeed.

                                                                      If you go non-exclusive because you can't AFFORD to go exclusive, then the odds are you won't be successful.

                                                                      Whether you go exlusive or not you should have enough traffic of your own, or money to buy traffic, to support the site on your own without having any affiliates.
                                                                      A paysite should not be your first project in this business. You need to be successful at other things first.

                                                                          I flopped on avs and freesites though.

                                                                                              I think AVS would be a really good starting point for you.
                                                                                              Its less upfront expense and you can learn how to convert the traffic that comes to your own site instead of handing traffic off to a sponsor.

                                                                                              As far as keeping more of the money for yourself, these are the numbers I would crunch.

                                                                                              How many sales per day am I sending to sponsors?
                                                                                              How much will the initial cost of opening the paysite be? (content, design, server, tracking software, visa fees, etc)
                                                                                              How much will the ongoing cost of opening the paysite be?(content updates, bandwidth expense etc)

                                                                                              If you're making 60% recurring now, then the extra 40% you'll make by having your own site has to be enough to cover all of the expenses involved with running the paysite. (This of course assumes that you'll be able to convert and retain members as well as the sponsors you're currently using)

                                                                                              Also you have to look at how long it will take you to recoup the initial expenses.

                                                                                                                                                  That's a tough one man. Last time my submitter went looking for new TGP's to submit to he got so infected with spyware we had to Format C:.

                                                                                                                                                  Free traffic is getting much harder to come by. I would go with paid partner accounts at a select few places, like the ones you have already.
                                                                                                                                                  Then re-invest all the profit into more partner accounts and paid listings. (Once you find something that sells really well for you)
