Blogs are overrated and overhyped

Blogs are so overrated. It's not the blog that gets you traffic, it's the combination of frequent updates and RSS. Apply this strategy to your existing sites, linklists, tgps, etc and develop your own RSS outputs and pinging. You'll come out way ahead.

Well I haven't gotten into the whole blog thing, but it does seem to me then whenever I search for almost ANYTHING on Google that at least half of the top links are blogs. So hmmmmmmmm.

DING DING DING we have a winner

Also look into your logs and see that even if your entries don't deal with a particular keyword per se, you still get SE hits.

What's overrated is the ease of creating daily, interesting content for your readers. Good blogs are bloody time consuming.

If most blogs didn't suck, they wouldn't be overrated. Too bad most of them do suck...

One thing I've noticed though

Some blog techniques (older ones) work best on Yahoo SE

For GOOGLE, you need a (apparently) a slightly differing approach

For some reason, it is opposite for me. Google is showering me with visitors, yahoo is on the slow side though.
