Good choice. But why you choose a cabriolet?
|

I will talk out of experience that the E46 M3 has a great engine and handling control but you don't really want the SMG II.
Also, the convertible is a little bit less stiff and will have a bit more rolll because it's eavier than the coupe. In order to gain most performance you need to keep the needle over 5k rpm when the rasp sound kicks in. Get the stock 18" wheels they are less easy to curb and the 19" optional ones look like plastic toy wheels. The manual 6 is perfect for a sportscar like this. A must have upgrade is an eisenmann meistersaft exhaust... www.eisenhaus.com :thumbsup |

oh that is nice looking, i love BMW's!!

In a straight line race with the 6sp...you'd have to shift perfectly to stay with the smg. And around the city,it functions nicely as an automatic. |

that's a $58k car, sticker price here in seattle ... I'm just killing time 'till I can get mine =) |

That would have to be fairly light then on options. My 03' smg was over $62 when I got it.About the only option I passed on,and i regret doing it was the GPS system. |
Nice car :thumbsup

http://www.raiyu.com/images/bmw/m3_2.jpg Picked mine up on Feb 1st, welcome to the family :thumbsup I got my car fully loaded with all of the options minus the 19" rims and it was $57K MSRP, but its not a convertible so its a few K cheaper. As for the new E90, you cant compare an M3 to the new 3-series, it will competely obliterate it in every aspect of driving, but the new M3 that should be something to look forward to for sure, as long as they have a manual option available. |
M3's kick ass. I plan on buying one later this year.
|
Awsome choice Raffi, your gonna love that thing. I had a 97 and that was insane, I bet the 2005s are nuts! 333hp. But you may want to wait, theres a new M3 coming soon and the stock engine will be the M5s 450hp+ V8.
Either way, its one hell of a car! |
just saw the new car outside .. congrads
|
I like them all, and they all drive very nicly, but they are not worth the money!
|
Raffi stop talking about it and get it bro you deserve it :thumbsup

After thinking about it...it was a few years ago..the 62k i paid was complete with the shipping, taxes, license and gas guzzler tax.The SMG was a $2400 upgrade and I got the Harmon Kardon plus winter package, etc so if your dealer is stickered at $58k without smg...by the time you actually get the car you'll be in the 60's.

true enough ... forgot about destination, gas guzzler, etc. in Wa we have to pay luxury tax on anything over 38k as well as sales tax too, so it'll probably be 70 out the door... |
