Hey guys, hehe i dont like coming to GFY for advice but i wanna hear what u guys gotta say. Ok here's the dealio..

Im with my gf for 1yr now, we r both almost 20.. Ok the problem is im like black, and shes like indian... We love each other but we think we should break up cuz of the whole indian thing.. Like for example, HER PARENTS hate blacks and if u guys know how indians are, they gotta marry one of their own... So theres like a 99% chance she'll marry an indian guy while i go off and marry someone who is black... Shit she rather marry an indian guy too, saves everyone a lot of problems in the future..

I know this sucks but even if we dont listen to anyone and get married, it'll be so fucked up, like her parents will never talk to her, i/her would feel lost when it comes to indian stuff, cuz our traditions are totally different.. Has anyone here ever been in a situtation like this??? When u know u cant marry someone cuz of her race/tradition and cause of urs???

yes im only 20 but we r serious and if we keep going on, we'll be together for many years, i know we are not breaking up anytime soon..

So when im like 26, we would have been together for 7 years, at that point it hurts X10000 more to break up.

Every girlfriends mom hates/is critical/ really hates whatever guy her daughter comes home with.

There's not many mothers in the world who would stop speaking to their daughter or something just because she was with some guy who doesn't get the 'seal of approval'...

This can only end badly. I've seen the EXACT same situation happen with a guy I used to know except it wasnt race that was this issue - it was because he was an idiot and her parents hated him.

Anyway they both ran off and got married. It was all peachy for a while until the girl couldn't deal with her family refusing to talk or have contact with her. One day she said she was off to the shops or something and never came back. She went home to live with her family and refused to see or speak to him again which the parents happily enforced.

I still remember the immaturity of the whole thing. He was about your age and she was a couple of years younger. It was a big fairyrale for them and it backfired spectacuarly.

My only question: Do you love her? If the answer is yes, then stay with her and stop complaining. At least you found someone you love.
