What you will need: A router and a wireless adaptor for each computer you want wireless. If the computers are going to be more than 25-30 away from the router I would recommend one of the new pre N routers availible from netgear. They run about $200. The range and trasnfer speed is incredible. The adaptors will run around $100 for pre-n. When you go to the store and the sales guy tells you that the g router is what you need dont listen. You will be sorry. Pick the new pre N or at the very least the G with Rangemax technology from netgear. More questions on wireless networking icq me at 296-880-753 I know this stuff!

well you need both. the router routes the info to where it needs to go. Howelse will you connect the wireless adaptors to the modem? does you modem have wireless built in?

i think you can... unless you have a lot of experience with networking I dont think it would be worth your time to try. I used to install this kind of stuff for a national retailer and have never tried! Ha! So i guess my advice we be to bite it and go but the router and 2 cards....
