The Vet told me to get some KMR Milk Replacer for Orphaned Kittens. It's a food suppliment. He said it was the best thing for it since it's so young.Originally posted by Relish XXXBro it is not cows milk you have purchased as that will kill the little darling?

Anyone ever do this before? It looks like its no more than a day old and it doesn't look like my dog did any real damage to it. I looked all around and couldn't find the mother.
I named him Bugs.

call up your local wildlife rescue, you will most likely just kill the little guy with improper careComment

Yeah but the meat is very tender. Even if it's just a small snack, probably worth the preparation.Originally posted by HighOnAcidCould easily fit into a box of smokes. It's not that big at all.Comment

Oh and teach your dog how to properly kill prey next time. Looks like he doesn't know how to. Maybe he thinks the rabbit is his friend or something

Aww, that is so good of you to take care of it.
Im used to situations like that. All through my life my mother has been the person everyone brings abandoned or sick baby kitties to.
Make sure you do what missy says and a few after you feed the baby take a warm wet wash cloth and whipe its butt so that it will go to the bathroom. Untill a baby is a few weeks old mother animals will lick the butt so that they go to the bath room.
good luckComment

Any chance you can find a local animal shelter? *Some* of them may be able to help if they specialize in exotics.

Rabbits are considered pests in Florida so if i were to take him to a shelter they would probably put him down.Originally posted by sickkittensAny chance you can find a local animal shelter? *Some* of them may be able to help if they specialize in exotics.
I called around and they all say that there is a 90% chance of him dying so they will not attempt to keep it alive. It's pretty much up to me to make sure this little guy lives.

There are places that take care of animals like this. It's just tough to find them. I'll ask around.Originally posted by HighOnAcidRabbits are considered pests in Florida so if i were to take him to a shelter they would probably put him down.

Good luck to you in keeping him alive. I've done this before too, I used an old rabbit coat to keep him in and the eye dropper feeding. Make sure you rub him with a soft towel to keep his circulation going and some sort of heat source - heating pad, hot water bottle, etc. They also like the feel of litter mates, so I used stuffed animals around him. It will give your little guy a sense of security.
Hope he makes it.Comment
