Not really, but what you're saying is of course going to happen eventually. It was only last year that the number of DVD rentals beat VHS rentals.

sounds like you got a deal, but....hmm.. without knowing the name, too many factors to consider. ask yourself how much are sponsors paying out for that traffic? $1k is great price if you've done the research, but I bought tons of names for far less.

don't forget I incubate/develop most of my names and match them with partners who acquire or private label the site for me. different tactics. i go for the slow hunt, waiting for the big kill. your $1,000 goes far, just be careful. today i bought on aftermarket SaleBlog.com ($40),ReligionBlog.com($20), BlogAlert.com ($70) and few others for under $50. I need them for my bloghost.com business. for me those were dirt cheap, for others , they couldn't care less. but that's fine, cause they'll go perfect with sexblog.com & pornblog.com

To be honest, I don't think it's worth anymore than $500,000 on the high side.

A great name, but a smart investor will see that cd's are the past.

I believe they had interest at around $250k if I'm correct.

Isn't cd a registrated trademark from philips? I remember something about when the music industry tried to build in anti copying techniques Philips said it would not alow those discs to be sold as cd's.

yes, it's a great name, my point was that they waited too long, plus they seem like they are desperate to sell because they know the CD wave is nearing its end. you can look to itunes and other "music on demand" services for proof. look at the dying record/cd retail stores closing nationwide. they won't. keep in mind, the future is bands putting out regular albums and adding "reality content", commerce, music videos, interviews, concerts, etc. in the same jewelbox. lots of this on market already, when you buy 2disc set, sometimes 2nd disc is DVD with content. That's why CD is dying and DVD is taking over the music industry, just like it did in the Video Game industry. plus the music industry loves how the movie industry has shaped consumers minds that spending $15+ on a DVD is ok. but everything will be moving to "on demand", digital delivery, in the future.

plus "affordable" dual-sided DVDs + hardware are right around the corner.

selling traffic to them, them giving me IPO shares, me cheating the system and getting 5 times as many shares as i was allowed. that was fun

than last few years trading overture and than getting yahoo shares.
but whatever i made, i lost out a lot more by losing our GOTO contract after only a year
