I'm declining more FHG 's than I am approving.

1. Banners designed to look like thumbs to big pics. The ONLY reason for this is because your gallery sucks and the only way you can get a surfer to your site is to trick him.

2. Assorted pictures from different sets instead of series.

3. Shitty screen caps for big pics. OMFG. Yeah a surfer is going to signup after seeing that great quality sample of your sites content.

4. Movie clips with more text on them than content.

Maybe in your haste to get out as many FHG's as you can you forgot to make decent FHG's?

I have often asked for a decent thumb to go with a FHG that has movies because pulling one from the low quality free movie clips often sucks. 1 company has done it for me. Even if you would just let me know where the FHG that has pics and corresponds to the movie FHG I want is I'd do the work myself. I pull FHGs for my TGP and about 50% of the movie ones I ditch as I cant get a thumb I'd display on my TGP.

I have over 50,000 galleries, probably close to 75k. Too many to count. I don't use FHGs myself. Guys buy traffic to them from me. A critique from you on my galleries would be useless. I know what works for me.

My galleries used to get rejected because "They were to commercial"
or the videos were under 1meg. It isn't my problem that we know how to compress a video and still keep the quality.

Now, mass produce them, submit and whatever sticks to the walls sticks.

I used to live and die by TGP traffic....now, well that is a story I will keep to myself....lol

Did anyone point out yet that although thumb-preview M/TGPs are now the most popular, probably 3/4 of movie FHGs are impossible to thumb without viewing the clips? Come to that, redirections and anti-hotlinking make many of the galleries unthumbable except by visiting them one at a time and doing it manually. The same things make it impossible to use link checking software effectively, with the result that since so many galleries are deleted each month, M/TGPs nowadays probably have more broken links and redirections than when they suffered cheating submitters...

I am not complaining about the sponsors making shitty galleries so much as I am about webmasters who use these and expect good results. I can't even count the number of times guys submit "teen" FHG with models that look 35. Then get pissed at me for not listing it as teen. They think because the sponsor said it is teen it has to be. LOL.

I agree with you man, there is no argument to be found here. I think guys need to start back making their own galleries and get away from this FHG crap, or at least use quality FHGs.

Not because there is more to running a successful M/TGP than simply loading a database with galleries, nor because it takes a lot more time than you apparently imagine to use FHG's productively. Both those are true, but the main thing is what poor FHG's say about the sponsors who produce them.

Instead of relying on individual webmasters to make and submit galleries that sell their sites, sponsors have something which appeals directly to the M/TGP owners (because they and not submitters earn from them). I don't think TGP's are getting a free ride. They have their own traffic, which is a valuable commodity.

SEO guys are one google update from watching their numbers go to shit.....that traffic belongs to the search engine not the people who can manipulate the search engine.

TGP's (I'm talking about the good ones, not the pseudo CJ's) have THEIR OWN traffic....just like google and yahoo do.
In 1998 perhaps they were the lowest level on the food chain, when you could make tons of $$ and never give away a single piece of content.
But this is 2004 and they've pretty much taken over.....you seem to be stuck in the past.
Things change, change with them or get left behind.

jayeff Confirmed User Join Date: May 2001 Posts: 2,944	Did anyone point out yet that although thumb-preview M/TGPs are now the most popular, probably 3/4 of movie FHGs are impossible to thumb without viewing the clips? Come to that, redirections and anti-hotlinking make many of the galleries unthumbable except by visiting them one at a time and doing it manually. The same things make it impossible to use link checking software effectively, with the result that since so many galleries are deleted each month, M/TGPs nowadays probably have more broken links and redirections than when they suffered cheating submitters...

The FHG because affiliates are too damn lazy (or uneducated) to make their own.... and the entire TGP model because, "Let's just collect what everyone else makes, throw it all on a site, give it all away for free, and make easy money from sponsor ref links." FHG's are an available tool that in theory at least can make me more money and can make my life easier. Why shouldn't I want them to realize those potentials?

If I as a sponsor put flash on a FHG im not going to be fucking with crazy code exploits.. i want your traffic, i want the surfer to click on them. I understand not letting some russian kid using a submitter.. but a sponsor? If it's good enough for cnn and a bajillion other meainstream sites....
