Yes, as long as your application is still being processed. Once it's approved, you have 30 days (I think) to send in the rest of your paperwork.

Don't make life so hard for yourself. Just do like me, have a lawyer take care of the paperwork for you. It's not that expensive and that way you can be sure it's done right.
