It was a conference room where carrying a weapon was optional, if he actually interviewed him in the interogation area, it woulda been mandatory to leave his weapon at the door.

The guy was being interviewed for stabbing an old lady, he wasnt under arrest and wasn't in handcuffs. The cop was in an interegation unit with a loaded gun ( not very smart )

It doesn't take a genius to figure out if you lock yourself in a room with a suspect and a gun , something bad might happen.

Now dont get me wrong , the guy deserved to get the shit kicked out of him, infact anyone who kills someone , it should be an automatic that the family/friends get 10 minutes each with the murderer in locked room.

But in all likelyhood heres what really happened..

The guy was being interogated by a cop who was most likely giving him the old phonebook beating lie detector test, the guy got in a tussle with the cop and grabbed his gun , there was a struggle and he shot the cop and jumped out the window.

my common sense tells me the cops reacted in a way any of us would have and that the dude who killed the cop was an idiot for doing so and deserves whatever he has coming to him :thumbsup

i was walking down the street at night, and was picked up and spent the night in jail for absolutely NO REASON.

cost me bail and hours of time, in the end had to go to court and get it dismissed.

i did nothing wrong except exit a bar on Bourbon street and I fit the description.

Cops are people and represent a sampling from the population in general. So naturally, there are going to be cops who do bad shit.

However, the majority of them are good and they are putting their lives on the line to protect you. I am far from a "cop lover", but I do understand the need for law enforcement in our society. Knowing that, I respect those who are willing to take on the risk involved with protecting and serving. I also have the decency to show repsect and mourn when an officer is so senselessly killed in the line of duty by a scum bag like this one.

In Cincinnati, we have the highest number of deaths from police shooting UNARMED black men than any other city. Cincinnati police are worthless hunks of shit. No tears spilled when one of them fall.

Yeah Im not a huge fan of cops myself, but once they are gone, you'll see a LOT more unarmed black men getting killed. They do keep order for the most part, regardless of bad apples.

I agree with you about people and their 'fuck the police' mentality. Sometimes it's warranted (well maybe a 'fuck those particular police' rather than 'fuck the police') but not in a case like this, at least not with the information we know. Not all cops are bad and their is no evidence to suggest that this cop was a bad one. Most of them are good.

But comparing this to Rodney King or other shootings makes no sense. If you want to say both Rodney and this guy were suspects, fine, but that's where the analogy ends. Rodney King didn't kill anybody and wasn't in for interrogation. He was taken somewhere and beaten senseless by several cops. The suspect in this case became a murderer and whatever beatings he endured, came after the fact that he murdered somebody.

It doesn't matter if the cop was interrogating this guy on a freeway, office building, jail cell, or interrogation room. The guy should not have taken the cop's gun and used it on him. It obviously happens, so officers should take more precautions, but that doesn't justify that it happens because it should not happen.
