I think that anyone with a housecat that has gotten out and gotten lost for an extended period of time would agree that this isn't a smart thing to do. You can safely assume that a Muskrat or a Raccoon isn't someone's pet and truly a wild animal and thus justified. A housecat? Come on.

I believe that housepets should be fixed if one isn't a breeder. However, I don't support the hunting of domesticated animals.

I'm not an activist or a member of PETA but I've grown up with pets and wouldn't want to think that some redneck with a gun is shooting at fluffy if he decided to go for a stroll about the town one day.

It isn't an issue of whether they're wild or not. They're not naturally supposed to be in that area so they must be removed. Look what the rabbit and the pig did to austrailia or the snake did to many islands. You can't introduce a predator and not have another predator that will balance it's effects out and keep it in check.
The house cat breeds and has litters of up to 8 kittens at a time and can out run any natural predator in north america so it's in essence unstobbable. It's reaking havoc on natural wildlife such as quail and dove and rabbit populations and nothings able to stop them. How is killing them evil?
My dad's hunting lease went to shit because the quail were all wiped out within 3 years of the cats moving to that area. Now we see them walking around fat as shit. YOu know they just ate a squirrel or a rabbit. Imagine if they kill all the pretty little birds all you peta fuckers "watch". FUck the cats. You don't see wild dogs killing everything in site because tehy can't.

THis isn't a law allowing the shooting of pets, there are no pets in these wildlife areas... I've seen wild dogs and they'er m eaner than all hell... you shoot them too becuase they're dangerous (if they approach you) but a dog can't outrun a panther or a bear.

They aren't eating bugs alone or mice. The issue is much more extreme. FIrstly the bird population in 4 stats has already dropped 40% I'm not looking up where I found it, it was on hunter's world or one of the shooter's forums.

You can't excuse human error and that's what this is. It's a situation we shoul dhave had control over and failed to do so. If someone released a crazy baracuda into the damn FL coast that ate everything and was too fast to be stopped shit every mother fucking coastguard, marine patrol and every fisherman in the country would be volunteering to kill it off... and who the fuck would say anything? THis is hurting the wild life, that's the purpose of this law all together.
When I was 14 the Armadillo had been spreading diseases to all the game so we were asked (and paid) to exterminate as many armadillo as we could. that's how you handle a shitty situation. it's going to be the cats or the wildlife and to be honest I don't want to go out side 20 years from now and see cats all over the place instead of squirrels or rabbits.

exactly. I watched a documentary on Predators, cats were the #1 predator because they hunt NOT FOR FOOD but pleasure. They kill everything. They are a nuisance to wildlife.

I'm a cat lover, if I could I'd have 4 cats as pets, but they are vicious. My last cat used to sneak out at night through my open window and bring me back birds and lizards, I could care less about the lizards, but when my cat's killing the canaries I fed from my bird feeder I had a big problem.

have one left (the others have died off) and its an inside cat, and she cannot make babies. All the wild cats from the neighborhood stalk her and even come crawling and clawing at windows for her. Its fucking ridiculous.

Well, when I was ranching in Colorado, I personally saw 2 wild barn cats taken by an owl and a hawk. So if I saw it, I would imagine it happens alot more than that. And I saw hawks and owls all the time there...alot of them.
