It's strange. My homepage is and always has been my personal page at my.yahoo.com, and it still is, except that now I get this chinese download shit along with some weird dialect console. The url is now something completely different too, YET my yahoo homepage is still there....weird.

So, when I go to "TOOLS" ---> "INTERNET OPTIONS" to change back my homepage, I find that I can no longer change it, as this function is no longer changeable. Therein lies the problem... does anyone know how to go into the registry and delete the bastard? (so that I am again able to change my homepage at will)

Anyone?

This is a new one on me. I have active x controls in place, I am running Norton AV, I just did a full system scan with no infected files found out of over 110,000 files scanned, latest definitions installed. Damn some people need their asses kicked for pulling this shit.

start > run > regedit
HKEY_CRRENT_USER > Software > microsoft > internet explorer > edit everything back to how you want it
(this works on win98, not sure if it will work on WINXcraP

type scanreg /restore
pick a date before the browser got humped.

I've been relaxing and playing some serious Fallout Tactics, man is that game ever kewl. I'm in training right now, learning to maneuver my squad so as to destroy much bigger and more powerful enemies. I have 2 hot babes in my squad that I named my "sniperbabes", damn can these chickies ever SHOOT. I order them up on a rooftop, and before I know it the street below is littered with bodies, hee heee. Ohmy_yes it's fun.

Ztik -- I tried your idea, but the thing is, you have to know how to edit those items in that registry, and I really don't. There were 6 or 7 items there, and I couldn't tell what any of them really were for, so I left it alone. Thanks for trying to help me out though, I knew I could count on you guys to get this fixed.

There came a day not long ago that I just dropped everything and shut down for the holidays. Time to play, and no email, no icq, no instant messaging and no distractions. I done bought me some GAMES the week before Christmas, and by golly they arrived 2 days before the 25th. Hell, it's a miracle I'm back this early, muhahaaa.
