They can be great. Use mine all the time. I have four weeks a year and i can go nearly anywhere in the world. With my shooting, its great and a nice way to change things up.

It's a bad investment, unless you can build a few condo units (together) and time share them out. Best thing to do is scope out some un-populate or growing areas along the beach. Don't even look at popular beach towns.

I agree with that, i was thinking timeshare promotion when i wrote good for biz, not buying weeks to rent or get money from it.

I don't like time shares - not as an investment and definitely not as a vacation solution

Time shares are the worst investment in real estate.

Marriott Ownership rocks..... It is deeded property too!
You buy like 1 week or whatever a year, and never have to stay in it.
You can "trade it in" for Marriott Rewards Points and go anywhere in the world.
I love my timeshare. We own 8 weeks total.

I almost forgot to mention that while you are on vacation, if you are using your "Marriott Property" or staying anywhere else in the world using "points" you also
earn lots of points for every dollar of cash you spend in Marriott spa's and shops and restaraunts. We spent 30,000 USD (Before we owned a Marriott TimeShare Property) on my wifes Bachlorette party in Palm Springs and that gained us alot of points on our Rewards card. :-) We stayed another week I think on their dime. :-) Its like 5 points for every 1 dollar spent.... a typical room is like 20,000 points I think.
:-)
