best place to register .CAs
what's the best place to register .CAs? i have some canadian clients and i have to register their domains for them, and i have no experience with .CAs at all.
.... so far i know this: http://www.cira.ca/ is the Canadian Internet Registration Authority. they handle all the regulations with registering .CAs. (not just anyone can register one, you have to meet CIRA's requirements.) and here's a list of all the .CA registrars: http://www.cira.ca/cira/rr_choose_en ------------------ HQ Daily Nude Trade Traffic w/HQ Eraser Cash Oliver Klozov Amateur Pages |

thx dragonlady. blacksun.com doesn't seem to be a registrar...
so now i have: http://www.internic.ca/ = $50/yr, min. 2 yrs. http://www.easyhosting.com/ = $39.95/yr, min. 1 yr. http://www.canreg.com/ = $29.95/yr , min. 1 yr. all of them except easyhosting.com are on CIRA's list (http://www.cira.ca/cira/re_choose_en). funny that easyhosting.com isn't on there... I've seen some registrar's as low as $30 CDN / year, and as high as $50 USD / year (about $75 CDN / year).
One of them said that cira.ca (the company that governs .ca regulations) charges them $21.40 - I thought it was weird for them to explain their cost - and then they go on to say that they charge $42.80, which is 100% markup. |

I've checked out a few:
http://www.aloak.ca/ - $30 http://baremetal.com/ - $27 http://www.canreg.com/ - $30 http://www.cadns.ca/ - $30 http://www.domainsunder.ca/ - $28 http://www.domain.ca/ - $30 http://www.domainsatcost.ca/ - $25 http://www.istop.com/ - $25 Does anyone have any information regarding any of these registrars? A lot has changed on the .ca domain recently. Since 2 months ago a bunch of new rules have been made, and the orginization handling them isn't run by volunteers anymore, it's the government, now. They've also reduced the requirements to get one - an individual or any company that deals with canada can get one now - before only companies based in canada could. So it's hard to say which of these is the best, since some of them look like 2-bit operations. |

just get .com, if you can find them.....
its universal, and worth alot more, and cheaper to register. Just tell the canadian clients that....if they don't agree, just bribe them with goat milk. ------------------ Join4Free - $1 per free email signup. Pays ontime 100% of time |

CancerFactory, i agree with you... but a lot of .com's are gone and the .ca's are not that bad.
plus a lot of americans think the .ca mean california (according to my client), and some of my canadian clients deal with a lot of companies in cali... pretty funny huh? |
