know of a stat tracker where you do not have to install the software onto the server and maybe just add a line of code on each page to give me stats such as who is visiting and which files are downloaded? i have a feeling this is not possible unless we install at the root of the server corbu

one way or another you will have to look at the logs. try awstats.

yeah
i called up a few places like smarttools and they mentioned its possible to not have the app installed on the server but the application just has to have access to the logs via say... ftp.
sucks when clients are on different servers corbu
