Grade 10
Reading 58 (2003) 62 (2002) 66 (2001) The state average for grade 10 reading was 71 in 2003. Grade 11 Math 52 (2003) 57 (2002) 57 (2001) The state average for grade 11 math was 64 in 2003. Scale: National Percentile Rank (50 is the national average) Grade 9 Math 36 (Total) 30 (African American) 23 (Economically Disadvantaged) 34 (Female) 8 (Hispanic) 38 (Male) 10 (Students with Disabilities) 42 (White) Reading 43 (Total) 39 (African American) 30 (Economically Disadvantaged) 46 (Female) 20 (Hispanic) 40 (Male) 14 (Students with Disabilities) 47 (White) African American 38% 12% American Indian 1% 1% Asian 1% 1% Hispanic 3% 1% White 57% 86% We may have the worst test scores in the state, but atleast the day treatment center has more African Americans than Bryan Station. The day treatment center probobly take all of the blacks that cause to much trouble at Bryan Station. The way they district our High Schools gives the newer buildings the rich white kids and it gives Bryan Station, a school that is sinking into the ground literally, every black, white, and red ghetto in existance. Is this the social experience you think I need? I'm no racist, but you must understand that I would much rather have peers that don't steal my shit. Not every school is the same. Sure, my school is a little more fucked up than the average shit worthy school, but couldn't you people imply that from me wanting to get the fuck away from it? |

one day you will be 40 and realize you don't know everything. shame it will be a bit too late but you keep believing you know it all. :thumbsup your lack of ambition to finish something so easy as hs just opens the job market to those who realize that hs is nothing but a joke needed to get ahead. no one is judging your intelligence.....it's your decision which is being judged. but you are intelligent enough to know that now aren't you. you can see the difference........right? |

My father was born in Texas, and my mother was born in Japan. My brother and sister moved to Florida, and my closest cousin is in North Carolina. I was even born in a Nebraskan air force base. My roots don't reside in Kentucky. The shit about Kentucky and incest being related is true to a certain historical extent though. Do some research about the blue people of Kentucky. |

Sure it's a bit risky to think that you can rise above the rest without a pretentious paper telling you that you're smart, but if you follow the equation to life, which in my case leads to Conservative Christianity, then you're wasting it in my opinion. |
go back to school.. not worth it

Read the thread. |
Why the fuck did you even start this stupid thread? You must be having second thoughts about dropping out or you wouldn't give a shit.
|
i'm amazed how people still associate intelligence with education.
if you are dropping out, make sure you have plan, and only if that plan doesn't need an education. |

What? Are you feeling slightly owned because of your racist comment? I just wanted to hear webmasters opinion on dropping out of school. I'm not going to lie and say I'm completely closed to other peoples opinions. Everything said is going to be put into a thought process. It's hard to drop out of high school without contemplating the thought "What if?". |

if you are getting a 4.0 you should be able to easily get a GED at least.

(2) I'm not talking about your defunct high school; I'm talking about your opportunity to go to college for free, and the social growth you'll experience there (3) If you're afraid that you'll fall into the supposedly 99% of conformity, then you're really letting situations control you, instead of the other way around. (4) By equally educate, I mean giving yourself the breadth of knowledge that college does give. There's nothing more important than well rounded education and experience, and that's a very difficult thing to get staying at home behind a monitor. (5) I'm not saying you can't get 99% of that on your own, but I somehow doubt you'll find the motivation to do so |

Usually when someone makes a thread, it is because they want attention. Why else would I post anything on a message board? |
It is worth it fro the social status. Now iti s cool to be anti social but when you are 50 you are going to feel dumb for what you did. You mention that "you win". You would be surprised to find out that the entire school system does nto know you are care about you. they get paid and take the summers off is why they work there.

Chris, I can see dropping out of college, but dropping out of high school so close to finishing!!! I don't understand. One thing I do know is that we are not islands. What we do affects those we love and who love us. Stop being selfish. What are your actions doing to your family? Making money or not making money is not the issue. It's a matter of self-esteem and taking some time to make those happy around you who care about you.
I have a relative who dropped out of high school with just a few months left. He regretted it for the rest of his life. He now has five kids and he has worked long and hard to make sure each one finished college. Being rebellious can be fun, but being a dumbshit is boring. You aren't bullshitting us, are you? Wipe your nose and go back to school. :) |
GO BACK TO SCHOOL!
finish out the year and stop being a fucking moron. YOU WILL miss all the sweet 18 year old pussy you are passing up daily when you turn around 23-24. believe you me. Id love to go back the the last 3 months of my senior year again. Those were the best 3 months. |
umm dumb ass go to school and go to college and then worry about the real life education because without those first two life can be alot more difficult

Of everyone I know that dropped out, they are all making below average income except two. One got lucky and the other built off his dad's already successful business.

The younger webmasters among us, 18-21 should use school as backup
|
where do all these trolls come from?

screw it. goddamn 'institutions' telling you what to do. but realize, the 'system' graduates people who are basically retarded, so when you're choosing not to finish thats wicked man, but realize you will be regarded as one of those people who is 'just a little too retarded to graduate from a free school'. and post secondary education is awsome for exposure and networking - but stick to what you know man - good luck with that! |
I don't regret and don't want to go back and do it again.
I'd probably be dead if I did it again. More haters for drama. :warning |
