Huge fucking car accident involving my cousin and girlfriend in LA... - GoFuckYourself.com

My cousin Christina and good friend Tamar got into a huge car accident yesterday, where Tamar was driving her SUV and lost control on a windy road...

Tamar was driving, her seatbelt on, and my cousin was right in back of her, without a seatbelt.

Turns out the entire roof and left side of the car was destroyed, and they both managed to fly out of the car (they were 5 in the car, and both of them had the worst injuries)

My cousins face is destroyed, broken teeth, broken nose, etc
Her elbow is crushed into a thousand pieces
Her spleen and liver are severely damaged
Her 2 hips and 2 femurs are broken
Her left knee and kneecap are crushed into a thousand pieces as well
and she can't remember anything about the accident...

Tamar had her spleen removed, from what we know, but is into another hospital because the hospitals in that region are not capable of having more than 1 trauma patient at a time.

my family is completely devestated, as we do not know if there were any brain damages to my cousin or if she will be able to walk normally again.

we might have to fly in sometime soon to go and see them

really hope they both turn out well, as christina is the closest thing I have to a sister, and Tamar is a girl I really care about.

I'm guessing that since the left side was ripped off the vehicle that the seat belt tore away at the side column.

When I first read that she had her spleen removed I got kind of a grim outlook for her but then I researched it a bit. Suposedly the liver can take over the sleen's bacteria fighting and blood filtering functions after a few months and the bone marrow will replace the spleen for blood production.

Good luck to them both. With today's medical advancements I'm sure they will both come out fine with some surgery, physio therapie and patience. Hopefully there was no brain damage but even then, a lot of times the brain is able to repair itself even if it means starting over from new for awhile until it just "clicks".

im a little paranoid from a car accident i was in when i was 18 yrs old (i was in the middle of a 3 car pile-up). the guy in front of me was high on acid and went from 70-mph to zero in a second on a bridge in Cleveland, OH. i totaled my car, but escaped without a scratch on me.

I am sorry to hear the news. I had a bad accident in 99 where I almost went off a bridge at 120 mph. I am sure that they will be ok with all of the advancements in medical procedures.
