The first reports of it I remember hearing that day about flight 11 was that it was shot down.

No i think they changed their objective , then people tried to ambush the cockpit s they downed it on purpose.

Nobody now would have blamed them for shooting that one down.

meh... it needed to be shot down, even if there was an 80% chance that the hijackers were chickening out, or even if the passengers got the plane under control...
just like there's no negotiating with terrorists...
who knows what the target could have been.. or what the intentions may have been... (eg: dumping of biological weapons over cities/in cities)

What is better for the media - "Heroic passengers die crashing plane that terrorists were going to use to kill" or "government forced to shoot down hijacked plane"

Call me a pessimist but I guess that's immediately what I thought. "They downed it".

Not that I'm saying it wasn't the right move, but it makes it a lot easier for joe citizen to swallow.

easy to say that when you know the final outcome now, but do you think that's a good strategy? The majority of hijacked planes land normally after negotiations.

Nothing new here! However, I do believe that the plane was shot down. I remember vividly that morning. I was listening to Howard Stern, and he actually had a caller on, who said he was from that part of PA, and that he saw the plane go down, & that he saw F16s in the air right after.

Our govt. thought that that plane was heading to DC, and my guess is that Dick Cheney probably gave the orders to shoot it down in a field in PA, rather than let the plane get close to another metropolitian area. God rest the souls of all the innocents who died that day because they went to work. Fuck Jihadism!!

The audio clips are somewhat confusing, since it jumps from 8:34 to 9:03 (second plane hits WTC), and then back to 8:37 when Boston contacts NEADS saying the first one is a hijacking. It kind of gives the impression that the military didn't know about the hijacking until after the second plane at 9:03.

It's interesting that many people initially thought it was one of the war games that day. Though the military claims the war game excercises aided in our rapid response. Imagine what would happen if we hadn't been practicing nuclear war with Russia in Alaska and if the CIA/NRO hadn't been doing drills "flying airplanes into buildings". I love how they lie to us and say 9/11 was a failure of imagination. Especially since there had been war games involving the exact scenarios and that the war games that day may have impeded our ability to respond (hence imagination was our failure).

Unfortuanely there was just to much time on between the first plane, and flight 11 being shot down. By the time elasped I think they had a good judgement that the plane was heading for another target. Sad to say, and I would hate to live with myself after being one of those pilots. Glad to have seen this, this kinda stuff isnt broadcasted here in EU, dunno if anyone heard but we had a really tacky situation last weekend where a KLM flight got rejected due to 2 ppl on the plane that werent on the EU blacklist. The plane returned to Amsterdam Airport and noone was arrested (unfortunately imho). Its time to get specs synchronised, I bet its a matter of time when some ahole will be able to enter US airspace again this way...

I'm confused. I've watched that video tape, I've read the 9/11 Commision report; I've read and watched everything on the subject. After watching that video, what makes anyone think that the last plane was shot down? All I got from that video is that someone told the military that they "needed to get involved" and "needed to get some planes in the air".

If I recall correctly, we had fighters in the air, but they were over Washington DC at the time of the final crash.

The final plane went down either becase the terrorists couldn't control it or because the passengers rushed the cockpit.

It's somewhat hard to fathom that 2 years later, another terrorist attack would involved a government informant who had prior-knowledge, mysterious Iraqis who weren't caught (yet videotaped and suppressed), and a Ryder truck used to carry a bomb which in both cases the serial number on the axel of the truck led to the conspirators (what are the odds of that?)

Please realize these are not conspiracy theories. These are facts. James Woolsey, the CIA Director from 1993-1995 explicitly said there was a government coverup in both attacks. Which are both related to 9/11 because of Ramzi Yousef and his uncle, KSM, the 9/11 mastermind.

So if the 1993 attack was a failed sting operation, couldn't 9/11 be the same? There was an FBI informant living with at least 2 of the hijackers. Besides the fact that some trained on U.S. military bases and they just happened to pick a day where we were running similiar wargame scenarios.

I've watched that video tape, I've read the 9/11 Commision report; I've read and watched everything on the subject. After watching that video, what makes anyone think that the last plane was shot down? All I got from that video is that someone told the military that they "needed to get involved" and "needed to get some planes in the air". If I recall correctly, we had fighters in the air, but they were over Washington DC at the time of the final crash.
