i was so against this movie being made back in the days when it was rumoured Nick Cage was going to be Wonka,etc but when the whole Depp/Burton thing came together I changed my mind and now I want to see it. Plus, as it has been said, the book is dark and not always easy for kids. That sounds right up Burton's street.

it wasn't that long ago that I actually sat down and read the book and wow, what a dark, twisted motherfucker of a trip...

also, if you have the SE of Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory, there's a feture you'll hear the the producer talk about initially trying to make one big commecial for a candy bar that ended up being manufactured poorly and melted on the shelves...

When I first heard a remake was planned I immediately thought about Planet of the Apes (this is before I even heard about Burton directing). But when I heard Johnny Depp I thought, well if you've got to do it, who else. Now with what I've seen and heard so far I think I am going to like it and will go see it while it's in the theater. With all my satellite channels only 2 or 3 movies most years get that honor :upsidedow

I am! Since discussion of the movie came about last year, my fingers have been crossed that it will be a good one. Pirates of the Caribbean was not a fantastic movie, however, Johnny Depp's performance was well worth watching. He said he played his character based on how he imagined Keith Richards as a pirate. Can't wait to see how he plays Willy. :-)
