cops dont care about car theifs

a friend of mine got his prelude stolen, for the second time in about 1.5 years. This time around he had a "boomerang" installed. Its a company in montreal that installs a unit in yer car so they can track it. The unit he had would contact the company the moment the car was moving if he wasnt driving it (it has some pager unit on they keychain to know if hes the driver of if its been jacked).

Anyways they call him and start tracking the car and following it. 4 hours later they find it parked in a hospital parking lot..the cops show up and find another stolen car parked right next to it. So they take both cars and tow them back..my friend needs a new starter and has to pay a 250$ tracking fee for finding his car.

Is it really that hard to catch the guys who steal the cars? All you gotta do is sit and wait for the person to go back to the car(assuming you have a system like the boomerang), and then you can shoot him, or what ever else you wanna do to car theifs. If cops are too busy to catch em why cant they hire others to sit and wait..its just a piss off..once your car is found, they just tow it and leave. You're 500$+ in the hole and the prick is just gonna steal another car the next night, and so it continues.

One of the greatest car dealer commercials I've seen is this local one where they said they installed "trunk monkeys" that would sit in your trunk and if the car was stolen theyd come through the backseat trunk access and kick the thiefs ass ... too bad it was a joke though

My friend has his Escalade stolen. The insurance company refused to compensate him the car's worth, as they assumed that he had somehow arranged this to collect on the insurance.

Here's a real kicker.... My gf had her car stolen and the police came made their report, told us there was a slim chance of finding it. Six months later we get a post card from the police asking if we found the car... WTF????

A. Isn't it THEIR job to find the thing????

B. IF I did find the damn thing don't they think I would report it so I won't get pulled over for driving a stolen car????

I really don't understand the "Protect and Serve" line anymore.

A good attorney would make them pay, and pay plenty extra for trying to pull that kind of bullshit.

I had 3 cars stolen when I lived in jersey over a 2 two year period, all within a week of going to the inspection station in town. I said this to the detective but he did not see the connection !?!? I never found any of my cars, no insurance tiring to save money, was young etc etc now I insure everything never had another problem
I think they were stealing cars without ins because they knew the police don't care and
without the insurance company after them it was a freebie.
