I need SEO for a premium domain name. Come in motherfuckers!!!

I was a bit reluctant to post this, as I know SEO myself, and just in general - I do not like to bring up my business affairs/plans publicly. But, I'm going to bite the bullet, in efforts of finding someone to toy with this project. You will be paid a percentage, not a flat-rate. Incentive not to fuck around.

The domain is Dinosaurs.com - I just went to Word Tracker, and seen "dinosaurs" is searched 5k times a day, WordTracker alone. Same with Overture, etc. I could only imagine, if we could get top positioning for that term - all over. The market is untapped, due to shitty cpc. I mean come on, optimizing "dinosaurs.com" to be #1 for the term "dinosaurs"? That's got to be cake for someone on here.

Contact me bitches - I forget my ICQ #, so uh, just either guess it -
or email me at [email protected]

(FYI - yes, that's a real/functional email address).

I can sell toys to 12 yr old kids looking for dinosaur related merchandise.

But that's neither here nor there. I don't plan to base this domain off of e-commerce driven toy/dino shop. In fact, I was thinking more along the lines of a content driven, resource site - with adsense. As is, with built-in type in traffic, the domain is generating over 500-700 clicks each day. With an added SE push? I can see the domain doing 5x-10x that amount. Do the math on 3000-5000 clicks a day, for a single domain? Eh, suddenly doesn't sound so bad, for a site that targets 12 year old kids looking for dinosaurs.

first off the domain looks banned.
@nd to get up in the results for the term " Dinosaurs " you got to have more oomph than your competion:

http://www.google.com/search?num=100...rs&btnG=Search

My guess it as far as seo goes its a lost cause with out building something there, content and lots of it, get some good edu incoming links. You will need to at least a pagerank 7 to see much return, and to get there its going to cost you a power of cash. But whats your return going to be on that at the end of the day?

Thanks MrBaldBastard, sincerely. However, you're regurgitating the basics. I am not fool, as stated, I know SEO. I know, "content" is food for SEs. Sure, I don't have a network of cloaked sites, reaping the benefits of SE traffic. But, I do KNOW white hat seo. In fact, I know a lot of little stuff, about everything. I'm not the typical GFY-er. I've earned my stripes, ten fold.

Now, you're probably thinking - well if you know it, why come here. Well, look at my competition - http://www.enchantedlearning.com/subjects/dinosaurs/ - They've hundreds, if not thousands of pages of content. I'm entirely too busy to focus my energy on this one project. My business is streamlined, and it will continue to be. I don't work for money, it works for me. I'm not going to bust my ass, I've transcended. I will surely leave the grunt work for people who are in dire straits. I mean if someone is struggling along? Has the time, or just pretty fucking determined? I think this is a great deal. I'm not asking for #1 ranking for "credit cards" with the domain name "donkey-truck.org".

Understandable?

Try and understand me then, it will be easier to get donkey-truck.org to #1 for credit cards. As soon as a term like dinosaur whatever is entered out will come the kiddy filters, and to get around them your going to need some serious incoming linkage from trusted sites and to get that your either going to have to buy it or have content.

I'm not saying its not possible just that I don't think the effort is worth it, at least in the short term, I think the domain could be very good if you have a 3-5 year plan, and in 5 years your going to make more from it than what you can make now. If it was mine I would hook up with someone and get them to write content. And GFY is not the place to look for that.

Dinosaur.com doesn't have to feature dinosaurs or cater to kids - think Amazon.com and Monster.com and you'll be on the right track (that is, don't let the word "dinosaur" box you in ...)

Why not make it a business commentary site of old business and new business?

There are dinosaurs in every industry.

I still think he is better off going with information on dinos. They type-in traffic alone can bring in a few bucks. Not to mention it will be easier to get incoming links from quality resources with a name like that.

A crapload of content, using other articles and quoting them, as well as some RSS feeds with news stories on dinosaurs and such can put up a lot of content quickly. Definitely a profitible idea you have there AVN.

My man, I like how you think.

Kev - Monster and Amazon are extreme examples of "re-branding". Too much work, and entirely too much money. Why segregate my audience (i.e. type-in surfers)? When I can simply accommodate their thirst for dinosaur info, and profit from the ad clicks. Do not get me wrong, I agree, sometimes one must think outside the box (re-invent the wheel) in efforts of succeeding. But, for this particular domain? Lost cause. I have better domains for that effect.

There is no ban on the domain. It just needs links.get some decent content on there and subit to yahoo and trade links with other dinosaur sites and buy a couple of nice ones and you will be first page in 6 months

That's your best bet.

You'll have to spend at least $10k+ per month for a bunch of months to get up to PR7 or PR8, along with a lot of other things.. which I won't tell you because I think you've been an asshole to me before..

If you build a seo optimized site with good content (and thousands of pages) you will get free links with no recips that is what will get you higher placement. You also need to ask .edu .gov and .org sites to link ya. I am sure you know all that though heh.

just to give you a approximate picture

We suggest that you need at least 216 quality PR4+ inbound links with the anchor text 'dinosaurs' to stand a chance at top 10 ranking in the Google search engine.

Keep in mind the number shown above only reflects PR4+ inbound links as shown by google. Other search engines show that there may actually be up to 224 lesser links that may be needed.

Thanks to the members who got in-depth, and put things into perspective. I may know basic SEO, but, I do not know the actual # of links required/needed to obtain reasonable rankings for this kw. I do have several PR 7 websites / non adult. They're in the hosting industry. Perhaps that should help drop that number, to something more reasonable.

sure it could help for PR, but only if you try to host dinosaurs ;)
