One more important fact
in 1970s 7.5% of our econnomy was dependent on oil. Today its at 3%
HUGE difference. Thats why our econ is still booming even with high oil prices.

Most people here haven't driven long enough to have even a vague idea of what gas costs over the years..

20 years ago gas was more expensive than it is now..

Gas hasnt really inflated more than 100%

Food , smokes , liquor , housing etc have.

My point is gas isnt really very expensive still regardless of any "trend" period.

Gas HAS been kept low over the years so it only goes to say if you stop "artificially" keeping it low , it will go up.

Do any of you not from Texas, Blow Up Doll Loving, Left Wing, Morons even realize that they very item you are clicking away on with your Cheetos orange stained fingers is made of plastic, and that plastic is made from the same magic juice from the earth that Gasoline is made from? Did you know that the Rubber Doll you sleep with or the Luke Skywalker Doll you bought on Ebay last night was also made from OIL? Did you even realize that the jar of Vaseline Petroleum Jelly you dip into before running one out is of course made from OIL? Did you take a minute to think about the simple fact that CHINA has increased their demand for crude oil by as much as 30% per year over the past 5 or more years.

Clinton dumped 30 Million barrels of Oil in 2000 to help supposedly lower the demand of Crude Oil by increasing the amount of Oil in the market place while the price per barrel was up near $48.00. George Bush goes and increases the reserve by 44 Million barrels two years later (a difference of only 14 Million barrels, by the way, for the mathematically challenged) when the price of Crude Oil had taken a nice drop to below $40 for the first time since Clinton was in office. The drop in price was a result in the addition to our reserves because OPEC was concerned we would cut back our demand on their Crude and OPEC increased their production. Soon after this OPEC then went back on their agreement with the US and began to slowly lower their production rates while the world wide demand was steadily on the rise. Also the 44 million barrels of Crude Oil used to increase our reserves comes from American Based or Owned Oil Production companies and wells. In other words not Russian or Arab (OPEC) oil, but good old fashioned American Crude Oil. (AKA Black Gold, Texas Tea, Load Up Granny, Jethro, Ellie Mae, and the Critters in the truck and move to Beverly juice)

Only after our country had been attacked by Terrorists whose main goal is to weaken our resolve to be an influence in the Middle East, as we all know in the center of the biggest fucking Oil shopping mall in the world, did Bush then choose to increase the oil reserves. Like it was stated earlier, that is what you do when you go to WAR! While this war is not over Oil it is over the control of an entire region of the world that has a lot of oil left in it. As we sit in this Earth right now we will be on the down side of the oil production ability in less than 30 years if we do not somehow wave the magic wand and find more Oil buried even deeper in the ground. We could of course reopen our own little Saudi Arabia North AKA ALASKA and resume drilling and pumping oil out of there and therefore lower our demand for OPEC's Oil by of course increasing our own production and also making more money within our own country therefore lowering the national deficit while also increasing the tax base immensely. So I would say hell yeah oil prices are going to be on the rise for a long time to come if we continue to do things the Left Wing, Tree Hugger way.

When I was a kid I saw the price of regular gasoline jump from 38 cents/gallon to over $1.00/gallon almost over night and never get below 98 cents/gallon ever since then unless some radio station was doing a promotional stunt. I think that having the prices only increased by another $1.20/gallon to a whopping national average of $2.20/gallon in the last 30 years of my life ain't to damn bad. Considering we are the only major industrial nation in the world not paying over $3.00 per gallon is also not to shabby. Now do you want to explain to me in simple fucking American English how it is that Bush and his oil tycoon buddies are really getting on over on us with these so called skyrocketing gas prices if we are still the LOWEST PRICED GASOLINE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD???

Also for those of you from California, you pay more for your Gasoline not because of BUSH, but because of the idiotic left wing, tree hugging legislators you have elected into office out there who have made laws requiring more chemicals and additives be put into your fuels to make your cars emissions supposedly cleaner while at the same time still having increases in the toxicity of your air, QUIT YOUR BITCHING AND VOTE THEM OUT OF OFFICE! Could it be that the chemical additives put into your Gas is, oh I don't know, also polluting the air even more then the evil gas powered emissions were??? For those of you who think Brad Pitt is so cool for usingan electric car ... IT TAKES OIL TO MAKE ELECTRICITY IDIOTS! More oil is used to generate enough electricity for an electric car travel 100 miles than is used to make a gasoline engine car go the same distance.

I recently saw a documentary on the Taliban's oppression in Afghanistan and how they did so much to destroy the art works, film libraries, books, and ancient artifacts of Afghanistan. They even blew up a pair of 3000+ year old Buddha Statues carved into the side of a cliff. The was on the very left wing run PBS of all networks and it did nothing less than completely legitimize why we were right to go into Afghanistan and why we are also right to have gone into Iraq as it was clearly shown in this program. While this has NOTHING to do with Oil Prices neither does the moronic statement that was posted to start this entire thread in the first place.
