I guess CCBill could start qualifying attendees by the size of their processing or their Alexa rankings, and making it one person per website unless they were an event sponsoring company.
If I were in charge of AVN and I were out to make a profit, I'd charge more than 250.
The last non-adult show I went to in LA was a DRM conference. It was 1400 bucks for 3 days or 500 for each day. This included a crappy lunch but no dinners, no parties, no free drinks.
Anyone that can't afford to pay 250 bucks to come to the AVN show, shouldn't be there. This will save some companies thousands in NOT doing a booth but simply paying the price of admission for their reps.
There are still plenty of sponsorship opportunities out there, and I'm sure someone has already been smart enough to sponsor the toilet paper... of course that would have been the first thing I'd have gone after.
