often in war there are a zillions of factors involved which decide the ultimate fate.. including a lot of chance (read clausewitz)...but if u consider that around 80% of german casulties were suffered on the eastern front plus over 70% of german war output went towards supporting the war in the east..
u must say that the major factor for germany losing the war was the soviet union..

offcourse its a completely different debate trying to analyse the war assuming the soviets were never involved.. would be a good study to conduct on how the war would have turned out... though a study like that would probably not taken seriously by academics and would be pretty irrelavent.

Wasn't this also the tactic and pattern when the US or their proxies mined the harbour in Nicaragua or toppled an elected leader in Chile. And then they turnaround and fund and send arms to brutal unelected dictators that support their causes. The gov't has an interesting twist on what promoting democracy means in the world.

They assassinated Salvador Allende, and then installed a brutal dictator, Augusto Pinochet, who is about to go on trial at the world court for his crimes against his own people. They also did the same thing with Arastide in Haiti less than two years ago, he was elected with over 90% of the vote. Now Haiti is a military dictatorship. They don't care about democracy, when they say democracy, they mean governments that will do exactly what the US wants them to do. If they act in the interest of their own people rather than the interest of the World Bank, they're terrorists.
