INDUSTRY SCAM ALERT ? I and most likely others got taken.
This is a difficult post for me to make because I?m embarrassed, humiliated and angry but I?m honor bound to warn you all about what happened. I was scammed out of 4000 dollars and I just found out that other people have been getting hit as well.
The short version of the story is that a guy on ICQ that goes by King Fuck and tells you his real name is Jeremy talked me into sending him money for prepaid joins to our sponsor program. I asked him if he had references and he mentioned Greg Dumas who many of you know is as good of a reference as you can get. He told me he?d have Greg contact me. A gregduma4981 on AIM hit me up and vouched for him. Funny thing is that it wasn?t the real Greg. I sent the money and lost the money.
This guy clearly knows Greg and knows the industry. I swear I talked to who I thought was Greg for 20 minutes and never put it together and I know Greg! This happened last week and I?ve been just patiently waiting for the joins. Last night at the Phoenix Forum I had dinner with Greg and asked him how Australia was. He told me he?s never been to Australia and I knew right there in a second that I had been scammed.
I won?t post the names of the other companies that got taken because I don?t know if they want it disclosed but Greg and I thought I?d be best to get the word out to you all as fast as possible.
Other information that might help you is that I sent it via Western Union to an Allison Greenberg in Fort Lauderdale who would have used 2 forms of government issued identification to pick that much money. I don?t know if it is someone that he knows or some hooker off the street that he got to do the dirty work but I know that person exists. I seriously doubt he had two fake IDs.
