More amazing: An outsource company makes cheap galleries, and a company as big as Adult.com doesn't check the work before putting it live. Thus..... screwing YOU. The affiliate.

Sorry to see this happen to Lensman but there are bigger issues here.

Just think, this shit happened because of an outsourcing business solution.

The worst case scenario was the result.

Although it was an adult entertainment company that was the victim and nobody in the mainstream is going to cover it news-wise, it raises the ominous spectre that the other outsourcing companies in other industries may well be in the same boat.

Can you imagine what the outsourcing companies that handled out debts, medical info, credit card and banking, weapons and communications?

That's why I keep an eye on the adult web businesses. The latest technologies, the latest tactics and models, and unfortunately the latest scams and fuck ups.

We may well be seeing the swell of a coming wave wherein global security becomes compromised because of scoundrels who exploit third world countries to damn near slave labor to keep overhead down for big western businesses.

I had foreseen events like this and tried to warn on this board a number of times. Some of you agreed.

Yet there's a double edged sword as I went to business meeting with film and television and licensing people here in Hollywood and the main reason for outsourcing wasn't keeping production costs down, it was keeping labor and legal costs down. Too many American workers will scream discrimination at the drop of a hat, they're on drugs or alcohol, have criminal records and alarming personal debts. It's not like you're hiring anyone anymore it's like you're running a damned rehab center when you hire an American.

So there're two sides to each story but this event that hit Lensman should bear as a warning post that if you outsource, you need to be vigilant. If you're a company that runs an outsourcing business, be forewarned that if you run it crooked, we'll know.

You can run, but ya' can't hide.

Nice, we were 100% loyal to you when you worked at Adult.com, despite your mental problems, and you repay it by shitting on us.

I hope you're happy with yourself.

1. Mental problems.... ok sure. Myself and 200 million other Americans take lithium. It's not really a big deal.

2. 100% loyal? In the end, you wouldn't even admit that the designs came from me because you were too embarrassed. That's loyal?

3. I was also 100% loyal to Adult.... when I worked at Adult. That doesn't mean that carries on after the fact, any more than it does you to me.

4. Shitting on you? No one is shitting on anyone here. Other than XXX Outsource. If I'm not mistaken, your galleries were caught doing this redirecting/ref code dropping thing months ago and at the time it was blamed on a server. NATS even backed you up. RRRed made a statement in the support forum saying it was completely corrected. Now, 2 months later, the same exact thing is happening again and XXX Outsource is the scapegoat. My take on it today is, you're getting rock bottom galleries from some third world country and expecting them to put in all the codes, and then even, all the codes so perfectly that no one else even bothers to check them? Sorry, but that's just not realistic. I make stuff everyday.... paysites, galleries, promos, etc..... and everything I do goes to programming before it goes live. Just as it did with Adult.

Am I shitting on you? No. But I am watching you burn down a company (a low-level company that i personally have no love for either, but that's beside the point) to cover yourself.

Am I happy? No I'm not happy. I'm fucking angry.

Well, said. I just read the entire thread, and I think it's safe to say that both parties are in the wrong. The underlining lesson should have been learned since the last gal incident.

I understand it's difficult to deal with tons of galleries and check each one, but it's something you HAVE to do. The blame really cannot be put upon the company who designed it 100%.

I guess this is one of those "You should have known better" type of things ...

Juicy: Dude, get a new line or at least know when to stop your shit. It's really not funny when serious matters come about.

ANOTHER THREAD ABOUT SOMEONE UNHAPPY ABOUT A SUPPLIER [boring]

Sorry but if this had been anyone other than Lensman's thread it would of never reached a full page.

Whether it's content providers, designers, programmers, etc it's all the same. The good ones are backed up with work and expensive. The bad ones are looking for work and cheap.

Regarding custom content, which is my outsourcing dept., I had a guy contact me two weeks ago who thinks we are sitting around waiting for his email.

He offered us $2,000 to shoot 4 glamour sets and three videos of [url=http://www.paulmarkham.com/content.php?modelId=226]Veronika Hanakova./URL] He wanted it done that week and gave detailed instructions.

FUCKING CLUELESS, is my answer to him. If I shoot Veronika for a day I would sell the sets for a little more than $2,000, plus it would be a month to get her and at least 2-3 weeks to get me. After I payed her $1,000 I'm left with not a lot.

I get guys all the time who think I will work for the money some fool in Russia will work for who picked up a camera last month and shooting ugly girls for $50 a day. Plus they usually can't deliver on time, can't focus there $500 camera, and as for color balance that takes me a day to correct.

But he's cheap and he sells to people, who end up coming to the boards complaining about the service.

Go find one thread flaming my work or my service. Plenty of them flaming my attitude, arrogance, opinions and a few other things. And even a few complaining about my prices.

Not aware of what Lensman was paying, but this is not directed at him personally, more the trend of people who think paying peanuts will recruit professionals.

Thanks but I don't think both parties are to blame. Lensman hired someone to do something and it wasn't done. Plain and simple.

The big issues here are how spread thin are companies who are outsourcing and not in control of the quality of the product. Our very lives now depend on manufacturing , customer service and other services to foreign countries. Most of whom hate our guts!

Did you know the telecommunications industry for the U.S. is run by Israel and a few years ago they even got busted for one of the biggest scandals in corporate and espionage history BUT they STILL run our shit!

This story of what happened to Lensman should make front page news nationally because it is a prime, prime example of what happens when things are outside of your reach. Lensman's only mistake was in trusting someone he was paying to provide him with a service. He got burned, he's learned.

What I see here are people willing to jump in and help him out. That's good because it shows solidarity to a degree.

Industries like this have people who just have to pick a fight with someone. Almost as bad as comic book collectors.

I remember many of you when you first started out and moved on up. Perhaps it's time for a retraction of expansion and bolstering the forces. Who's reliable and who isn't. Draw the line and when products and services meet the quality level expansion is guaranteed.

In this day and age you've gotta make that bank and make it good and fast. No telling when the next nut will fuck things up and you do NOT want to be left out in the cold.

I stick with the same people I've been working with for YEARS because they're true blue and back up what they say. My overhead to profit ratio is probably the best in any industry with less than 1% overhead to profit. I can work 1 month a year and my customers are HAPPY.

Team up. Draw the line with companies and people who do the best work and if it costs more, so be it.

Remember the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition..

Here's another take on outsourcing to the third world.

Recently while we were on holiday in the US I lost my wallet with my credit cards in it. So I needed to cancel them. The US one was easy, B of A, the Czech one was easy, Eva has the number on hers. The problem was the UK Visa card, which has a very high limit and the real priority.

So I phoned directory enquires from my Mum's house and got the local service. But this was after being bumped around 6-7 computer answering programs asking what service I needed. When I eventually found a human, who was in Ohio, she could not help me and give me the number for International Directory Enquiries and hung up.

So we then went through my Mum's Long Distance phone service who handle her International calls, again on the phone listening to compueters tell me my converstion may be recorded in the unlikely event that I find a human..

But I did find one who did not now the number and was not going to find out for me.

So this carried on for an hour and the over all service totally sucked. Until I got through to one delightful young lady who went and asked her supervisor and then her manager if they could help. She had a Indian accent and told me she was not allowed to reveal where she was. I guess she was in India.

We eventually found the phone number by phoning Internetional Directory Enquiries in Czech who gave us the number in seconds.

So maybe more services should be out sourced, but you assume the responsibility of managing and checking them until you are 101% happy with them. Being unhappy with them and not checking them is not right.

lithium is poison. 'nuff said.

(Sorry you got out-screwed Lens...)

Outsourcing technology development makes sense in many industries. Quality control will ALWAYS be a problem, even in house work. And yes, ANY of you who hire a designer is outsourcing. Be specific: having work done by someone like Fletch or LadyM? Outsourcing. Having work done for pennies on the dollar by an company overseas the harps and hards for cash, and has shit interanal quality control: overseas outsourcing, and generally a bad idea.

QA is key, F500 companies are having the exact same problems (I work for one, trust me on this, its not just adult).

I know what lithium is and why it's prescribed.

200k would be plausible, but I did read million.

Seems to me somehow this thread went wrong. On another note, if anyone would be able to recover the outsourcing company and make them ship shape, it would be rick latona.

At the top of any typical pyramid-shaped business hierarchy are guys trying to push as much work as possible to the cheaper people at the bottom. And sometimes there are still cheaper people in other businesses so you turn to them: outsourcing.

But if you sit high up on one of these pyramids, one everyday reality is that mistakes happen and it's part of your job to deal with that. This whole thread boils down to someone complaining that another business didn't check its workers' output adequately, but the complainer was guilty of the exact same thing. He could switch to another supplier or even bring the work in-house, and without a change in his own procedures, face the same problems again in future.

200 million out of that are prescribed lithium now? Generic viagra is the wrong business to be in!
Approximately 2.5 million adults are affected by bipolar disorder in America

Not sure how that tranlates to the actual Lithium Carbonate intake..

But I use to take it and it's really no big deal. In fact I quit a long time ago because I got tired of having to go to the hospital to get my blood checked.

I've never been on lithium, but my doctor says it probably would have made things worse in my particular case.

Prozac didn't do shit for me, but when they coupled it with depakote, I became a fucking zombie. I don't remember much at all of my 20th year. I ran out sometime around my 21st birthday and never got the 'script refilled.

I'm on a fun cocktail now, but it's working beautifully. What works for some doesn't work for others, trust me.

Glad that something has helped, and wish more bipolar people would get checked out instead of trying to hide the problem or deny it exists.

Maybe the problem is the organizational chart itself. In the past couple of decades there has been a flattening out of the organizational pyramids in most large corps' so that several layers of middle management have been wiped out in favor of off loading more responsibilities and quality control to the front line workers so suposedly proper supervision and oversight are not as required.

Okay Mr. Serious. Has anyone told you lately that you're anally retentive fucktard? Not doing business with an affiliate program because an affiliate (i'm assuming) with a referral link in his sig to a posts something that you don't find amusing? You're an idiot.

I just think everyone should base judgements on the individual companies and their experience, or others experience with them.
Very well put Dee.

Being American born and raised myself, I run into this problem often where just the word "outsourcing" leaves a bad taste in some people's mouths. Having done work for many well known companies, I offer alot of experience in my services.

As you mentioned, unfortunately many people have come to equate "outsourcing" with Third World labor forces where language barriers and lack of experience can hinder the outcome of the job, but is not always the case.

When considering outsourcing as an option, take the time to get referrals from satisfied clients. Too many people base their decisions on price, but how much money do they really save if the shody job a company does for them has to be redone? Sometimes farming out a job to someone in your own backyard may end up being cheaper in the long run.

Not necessarily - there is a flip side to your proposition. Small guys go to the outsourcers and get badly burned - they spend their money and have none left to spend with those who can produce a quality product.

Either that or the client gets so badly burned that they drop the project entirely and won't run the risk of having anyone do the job.

In both those scenarios those who produce quality work suffer and for us it's far better that the crap providers are out of the equation entirely.

Competition amongst quality providers is good for everyone - but when it includes garbage like that lot then it's bad for everyone!
