Anyone know what the fees involved are when you buy a used car in the states and ship it to canada?

Besides the obvious shipping.

So long as the car that you buy in the US is also sold in Canada, there should be no problems that I know of.

Just have to pay GST if it is over a certain age.

You may be required to pay duty on the vehicle, not sure you should check with customs before you bring it over the border.

You can only import 15+ years old car.

Isn't there a situation with the emissions?I think you might have problem getting an American car through our strict pollution control testing..unless it is over 25 years old

Check the Registrar of Imported Vehicles

Didn't you even think to check the Gov't of Canada website?
