As a Canadian and an avid hockey fan, I've had no use for a sport that's prerequiste to success what being tall and black (see Manute Bol). I'd watch the NBA finals but that was about it.
However, thanks to the NHL strike, I must say I've watched an inordinate amount of basketball and have come to appreciate what superior athletes play this game. I watched 2 full games this weekend and enjoyed it as much or more than any hockey I've seen over the past few years. I'm sure it didn't hurt that they were probably two of the more exciting games in recent years, but still. Thanks NHL, stay out as long as you like. |
