Adding Tracks to an Audio CD?

I have some audio cds that I want to burn that are about 45 minutes each. Is there any way to create 3-5 minute tracks out of one large one?

The problem is that I listen to it in my car and everytime I stop it I have to start from the very beginning again. I want to add tracks so I can skip forward to where I was instead of listening to it all over again.

cool edit pro.
I also had a couple of those big files, where all the songs are one track. Used Cool edit pro to cut it, took me pretty long but it works.

Download the 45 minutes onto Vegas, split them into seperate files, then burn them over as different tracks.
