The HUN: What's your definition of BLIND?

XXX is placed, but please ask him to fix the blind banner at the bottom (placed)

http://www.freshgirls.tv/cams/2004/lookatlucy/hun2.html I've exchanged many emails with Cybercat asking what is blind exactly, modified the page, removed a few things and finally, I get this message again from The Hun. They are not able to help me on this one. They simply reply with "banner is blind" - "banner is blind". Yeah BUT what kind of modification(s) should we do to make it "not-blind"? It looks like too complicated for them to help me on this one. That's what I hate with Cybercat - The communication is deficient compared to other brokers. So since you can't contact the Hun directly via Cybercat (I tried many times), I'd ask to all TGP/MGP owners what the Hun means. Please take into consideration he accepts images on HTML pages and I've been in this industry since 5 years. Also, I built many templates based on that principle (4 bottom thumbnails linked to larger images that were accepted on the hun over the past 3 years) MY definition of blind link: You show a thumb/image that is linked to something else than the larger thumb/image. "Misrepresentation of content" Problem is, if you look at the bottom "banner"; there's 4 thumbnails... you click on one of them and get larger "webcam" picture. I had a full profile on these pages, but removed them since I made modifications to make it as simple as possible. Still, it's blind to them. http://www.sweetnjuicey.com/teens/teenmovies258.html That page has been posted many time in the 1st/2-5 pos on the Hun. Please explain me how this page is correct, over mine. If you click on "Charlie" you can't even see the larger image of her thumbnail. I'm not here to bash on The Hun or Cybercat. I'm just looking for REAL advice so I can finally understand their point of view. Don't reply with "banner is blind". Thank you!

I've exchanged many, many emails with Cybercat. You write them 2 pages and they get back with one line: "Please remove the blind links". It's like talking to a robot. It really turns you crazy. Really. I'm a VERY patient guy but was upset for a few hours the last time. They accepted to list the galleries though, after I contacted Mark and told him and I was very upset. Tried contacting the Hun directly two times in the past years, and never got an answer. I guess he answers only to free submitters. Broker has to handle pay submitters.

Anyway I'm just looking for advices or maybe The Hun himself will take a look at this thread.

That would greatly appreciated. I will respect the Hun's rules, as long as I can understand them clearly.

		 Answer:

All thumbs MUST lead to pics that are not on an html page. All thumbnail sized pics MUST lead to a full sized image. Your bottom thumbs link to an html page with a pic and a join link. This has to go. The banner needs to look more banner like, and not so thumb like. I hope that makes sense. |

		 Hi Indigo,

I understand your frustration and have faced the same sort of thing many times myself. I guess the bottom line is that u just have to do as they say if you want the gallery listed. I am in the same position and have found and do still find a lot of galleries listed that are the same as the ones that they say there is a problem with, however, you just have to ignore it sometimes and just do what you have to do to get the page listed. For what its worth by the way, I have NEVER been allowed pic l inks to html pages on the hun!

Concerning the pic on HTML, that was accepted 3 years ago. Did he change the rule? Anyway why can't they tell it straight? "You need to link to larger image, not on HTML pages". Is that so complicated? Same template, with no modification was submitted and listed on The Hun in the past: (09/03/2002) (18/05/2002) (21/05/2002) (25/05/2002) (29/05/2002) (31/05/2002) ...etc. (03/06/02) It's not like I'm all new to this and never had a paid listing on the Hun. ALL galleries used the same technique, and we had like 100+ listings. Now it's "blind links" - That's enough to get you very confused.

You work 10 hours on a layout that was accepted and listed many times. Now, for no reason it's full of blind links. You ask where? You can no clear answer. So basically you guys would PULL the ENTIRE bottom just because there's a communication problem? Hey come on. You get 30 listings for $6000.00 - It's a business. I expect explanations so I design new templates based on CLEAR rules. This is NOT a free submission.

I've invested many thousands with Cybercat in the last 4 years. I'm their customer. It's my right to question the way they run their business, like Shap did. I'm asking for better communications. I lost many hours and time due to this. We design our template based on rules. We respect these rules. But if they are not clear at all or they can't explain it - it's NOT a good thing - for the customer and for the site owner. You know what a contract is? Well I want something as clear as a contract. Don't call blind links blind if they are not blind. Get it straight. That's all I'm asking for.

If I remove the "iFriends" text over the "bottom banner" - it's fixed? Because it won't be a "banner" anymore - Just 4 thumbnails linked to larger images. Correct? So basically the rule would be "No text over thumbnails". That is way more accurate, isn't it?

Your four pictures on the bottom of http://www.freshgirls.tv/cams/2004/lookatlucy/hun2.html

are considered blind links to thehun and many other tgp's. Surfers will click on the 160x70 thumbs thinking they will see a .jpg file. Instead they go to pages: http://www.freshgirls.tv/cams/cut1_hun.html http://www.freshgirls.tv/cams/cut2_hun.html http://www.freshgirls.tv/cams/cut3_hun.html http://www.freshgirls.tv/cams/cut4_hun.html Same thing on my galleries such as http://www.camcutie.com/tgp/092804/092804_01.htm. If I link the big pic at the bottom with all ny friends on it to an html page it is considered a blind link. Their whole point behind this is to never fool the surfer so that they will continue to come back to their tgp. XOXOXO *Krystal* |

Only Patrick knows for sure. And, you're going to tell me how it works? I've been in the gallery biz a long time there hoss, I know full well how it works. If you want to get listed and they won't list you, you either change your shit or you don't get listed. Periiod. The only thing I can see that they (cybercat) would consider blind is your banner that looks like thumbs down near the bottom. I'm not saying I'd "PULL THE ENTIRE BOTTOM", I'm saying I would CHANGE IT, make it look more like a traditional (obvious) banner. And son, I'm not ass-kissing, I'm telling you the drill. You obviously want to ignore what I and many others are saying so I'll leave you to it.

You can't fix something when you don't know what you need to fix. See, there was NO problem. Go figure. Obviously you can't act like an objective man on this one.
