Is Mainstream SEO Easier Then Adult? Where would you start with Mainstream SEO? Is it best to just link to as many sites as you can and put up recip links?

      Depends on the keywords.

But in general, it is much harder, simply because there are more mainstream SEM.

I found mainstream was far easier.

Of course it depends on the niche.

Start with adult/casinos/pharmas/travel = trial by fire.
If you can rank well in any of these, everything else will be a walk in the park.

As for linking strategies, see the SEO forums for much more in-depth answers and info than you'll likely get here.

Edit: *Watch* who you link to ... you're ranking can get screwed bad if you link to sites that SEs don't like (i.e. banned, link farms, etc)

I've done both, depends on the niche. "Mainstream" and "adult" are far too general of terms.

It also depends on your specific talents. I've seen people fail miserably in one and succeed in the other. Some people just have talent when it comes to adult, others are very good at mainstream. A lucky few are very good at both.
