Yep. You'll definitely see a rise in Toyota Prius and Prius-clone cars. :2 cents:

Considering my cost of living as it is - that would not add much of a change/increase

:winkwink:

Still, though - FUCK, GAS IS EXPENSIVE!!!

Iraq, at its peak, was never able to pump more than 3-3.5mil barrels a day. Right now it's only pumping 1-1.5mil. It'll take years of infrastructure buildup to hit that old maximum again, and years more to develop beyond that (assuming they can... the EIA claims that iraq only really has the ability to produce in the 3-3.5mil range sustainably, although reserves are substantial).

That's if every resident who's had a spouse blown up, a child run over, a sister sniped or a brother lit up suddenly feels "hmmm... maybe I'm overreacting" and everyone gets together in peace and love, yielding so much cooperation that the sunshine beaming out of their collective asses could be seen from space... but here in reality-land with the current security situation, it's unlikely that there'll be much progress at all, and entirely possible for LESS to flow out.

Considering that the world today is hurtling past the 80mil barrel a day usage mark, that meagre iraqi contribution would only have price mitigation effects if it were available NOW, which it isn't. :2 cents:

It's going to get worse. Over $3 soon for most of the US and that is before the anual labor day price gouging season.

pornguy 03-25-2005 12:16 AM

And people in Europe don't pay $800 a month for health insurance. You're comparing apples to oranges.

Then maybe you can tell me why stupid conservatives think it's worth 200 billion of our money to 'free' a bunch of backwards woman beating ragheads and why it's worth another couple hundred to rebuild their fucking country when all we get out of it is higher prices for gasoline?

Fuck those Arabs, I want the money.

Bike 03-25-2005 03:03 AM

Try buying gas over here...trust me, $50 is NOTHING.

It's costing me over $100 to fill the 350Z.

gangbangjoe 03-25-2005 03:07 AM

Fuck you all! Trying living here. To fill up my 1.8 Turbo Golf GTI its around $100.

You guys got it easy. I put $50 worth of petrol in my car on Tuesday.... I need to go the filling station again today.

Cassie 03-25-2005 07:11 AM

i just filled up this morning. granted i never let my tank get past 1/4; 2.15 for super. i paid close to 30.00. this is absolutely nuts.

Peaches 03-25-2005 07:14 AM

Again, if you adjust for inflation, prices were higher in the 80's. About $3 a gallon back then.

I'm more pissed off about the high price of MILK!! I can stop driving, but I need my Raisin Bran Crunch and milk with my cookies :(

Spudstr 03-25-2005 07:15 AM

aye, but you do get some autobahns with pretty open speed limits (though is it me or are there less of them recently?)

Try Britain, insane petrol prices, highest speed limit of 70mph and one of the highest density of speed cameras in the world. Top it all with shitty weather

rowan 03-25-2005 08:25 AM

Petrol in Melbourne AU is floating around $AUD1.05 per litre, which is about $USD$3.18 per gallon. That includes excise (tax) and GST (tax). Yeah, we get cumulatively taxed (tax on tax).

I filled up a few days before the Easter supply/demand ripoff madness so I'm set. :Graucho

I have a huge Dodge Durango that we use to film reality porn and it takes $55 to fill it up. I think I filled it 4 times last week. But, I tried filming sex in a sports car & got a nasty cramp in my neck. Oh well. Higher gas prices = less cars on the road. :thumbsup
