Anyone have their Sony PSP yet ?

I'm anxiously awaiting mine, UPS should be dropping it off in a couple of hours. Anyone here pick one up yet ?

There's one thing that I never really understood about people that go on Ebay and pay more and others that sit outside waiting all night for a store to open. I don't see why they didn't just pre-order the damn thing, that way it comes right to your door the day it comes out, no scrambling and no missing out. I suppose that for some people, it's like a ritual to have a geek-fest outside a store whenever something new comes out, but I sure the hell wouldn't waste my time.

not going to get one. I lost interest when I found out that you cant play regular movie DVD's on it - not sure if hollywood will start creating movies just for this plus it has limited music capabilities. I love sony..but not this time

Actually some movie companies are jumping in. It comes with Spiderman 2 to get you started. I did some quick digging and fount that Beuna Vista just signed up to release movies with it along with Lions Gate which is gonna put out Saw, Open Water, and a couple of others like The Punisher. I think that once the bandwagon starts rolling, others will come on.

Yeah, I noticed that to, they're like $39-$49 which kinda sucks for a portable game.

I bought mine just to resell it and might go back and pick another one up. I live in a small town with a wal mart. Only 4 people bought them at midnight last night so they still have 10 or so left which I would be suprised if they have sold those.

I really can't see the point in buying one of these to watch DVD's.

I'd prefer to sit on my sofa and watch them on the big screen

psp seems a bit over priced, 399cad at futureshop with 2 games. With tax that's like 460.

I have 5 bundles to pick up later today.

They're all going right on eBay, as they're going to be in short supply.

It's a handheld, not a portable PS2.

You can't play Gamecube games or watch movies on a Gameboy.

hahah... you realise what the size of the thing would be if it could.
It uses a new media call UMD. They are roughly the size of a mini cd. 1.8gig capactity. Sony plans on releasing lots of movies on this format as well as games. i think spider man 2 movie is free with the US launch of the PSP?

i had one for a few months now... they rock. Got twisted metal on its way, online net play enabled wifi... hit me up if any guys want a frag

I bought THPS3 for GBA shortly after it came out at some small record store in Sweden for like $15. Best game deal ever.
