Domain Typein Lookup?

Is there a way to lookup how many hits (i'm looking for type ins) a domain gets?

In example, lets say that I wanted to register www.whatever.com, but before I purchase it, I want to know if it receives any type ins?

Is this possible?

Thanks.

if you can REGISTER it, then it doesn't receive any typeins

There is a difference between visitors reaching your site and visitors trying to reach your site.

On the other hand, you're right when you say, no site - no visitors. But that doensn't mean there aren't any people TRYING to reach it.

However, you must have a very strong domain name if you think people will type it in even though the name doesn't exist (see example sex.com).
