50 moving to canada...

That's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. During and immediately after 9/11, there was an unprecedented outpouring of grief and support from Canada and almost every other nation. Thousands of Canadians put up American strangers who couldn't fly home in their guest bedrooms for days. There was a massive God damn candlelight vigil in Iran for crying out loud, although I doubt they reported that on CNN. In my city there's a huge mural with Canadian and American flags that says "together we stand", people put flowers and candles in front of it. Everyone was on your side and offered support. When you went into Afghanistan supposedly looking for Bin Laden, it was the most widely supported war in history.

It was two years later, when you forgot about Bin Laden and used this sympathy to invade an oil rich country that had nothing to do with 9/11 based on lies you presented in front of the God damn UN, killing over 100,000 innocent people, that the world remembered why you guys deserved it. What we were thinking crying for an empire that kills 3000 innocent people in any given month?

B.C. donated about 5 million to the families of the 911 victims.Other then a few idiots .99% of Canadians felt their pain and tried to help by donating .I see way more Fuck Canada posts instead of the other way around to be honest

Just for the record . Healthcare is not free in canada , its expensive and there isnt any good doctors there. I pay roughly the same for my american health insurance as i do for my canadian one, the difference is in canada the waiting time is years instead of months for things like surgery.

Education. I pay roughly the same for my kids in american schools as canadian ones.

As far as crimes, and such, its roughly the same in a big canadian city as a big american city.

I live very close to the white house , in whats considered a high crime area , and never once had my house broken in to.

I disagree, Saudi Arabia has far more "conservative values" than the US (why aren't they a superpower). It is the US's Liberal values that have allowed it to become the great nation it is.

Do I have to spell out everything for you...First of all; all that mechanic has is one vote, whereas someone with money (like say a Saudi Arabian Shiek) can easily influence the leader of the worlds only superpower (your good buddy BUSH), after people from his country commit the most atrocious terrorist act on US soil ever, to look the other way and attack a completely different nation.
Also, I could also have a far greater say in world affairs than that mechanic simply by using my $$$ to influence politicians/corporations/voters. To sum it up for you: its all about $$$$, not a simplistic voter(who can, in most cases be easily influenced)

Yes and many people can't afford $99 a month so they NEVER see a doctor. Actually what happens is they see one in the emergency room where their treatment is paid by the taxpayers anyways, but because of our fucked up system it cost 10X as much to treat the person.

Unfortunately some American fail to see that. yes we would all like to lvie ina land where NONE of outr atx $ goes to paying for someone's healthcare but that's going to happen so if this be the way I'd rather pay $1 now that $10 later. Call me silly.

Also anyone on meidcare or medicaid you do in fact WAIT for treatment and care is substandard at best. I remember having to take my sister and her kids to see a doctor and the local health clinic in Tampa and god damn I was in there for 6 fucking hours with a bunch of smelly white trash/migrant farm worker/ghetto type people and their bratty kids. Place smelled of Mr Clean and BO with some urine and vomit mixed in for goood measure. And most the doctors spoke worse english than Snoop Dogg. I would have rather used a toilet at a truck stop where 2 trucker bears just got done having anal sex than use the bathroom there. Canada could NOT possibly be worse than that.

Canada's system is flawed in the fact that it gets abused by people because its free. Look no further then everyone in the doctors office for the common cold as soon as they get a sniffle. Adding a $10 user fee or something for doctors visits woudl serverly reduce the strain on the family doctors as well as help to fund the system as well.

The other issue in Canada is that its so spaced out and large with such a small population but you still gotta treat all those citizens in the remote areas with adequate medical care. Thats expensive when your paying these doctors up north on-call pay thats outrageous for such a small poplulation.

Add in the fact that our most talented doctors head to the US in hopes of big dollars and that hurts the quality of the care.

Now the US system isnt exactly great either. You can get cheap plans if you want, but then your forced to visit certain approved doctors, which can be changed at any time and you can get screwed at any time. Also you get forced into what they deem elective or non emergency, or a pre-existing condition. If you go for a plan like Blue Cross you are looking at $400-500 a month easily for a family of 4. Thats quite a high price, and you still have to pay a deductable, and most plans only cover up to 80% etc. My friend has a pretty good plan and his family of 3 pays over $1k a month just in health care insurance.

And the trend in insurance is going up at a rapid rate due to the insurance the doctors much purchase to protect against the lawsuits they face every year. Its a viscious cycle. Studies out say the US would be able to pay for very good health care for every citizen if they became the middle man for the health care system at a cheaper rate then they currently pay now. Why because they have to subsidize and pay for the medicare and the poor who can't be denied service and are forced to default on payments.

I still prefer the universal heath care in canada to the US. And judging by what every other industrialized country in the world says, they also agree. No question these systems could use some tooling, but the only people being screwed in the US system are the citizens of the country. Its sure not the doctors getting huge cash, nor the insurance companies who screw you over, and pay your government to keep it that.

1. To be Canadian/Canadien/Canadienne is to be political. Having lived in the United States, England, France and Spain I have found that as a nation we must love to discuss politics.
2. The Canadian people are sarcastic, have a scathying and often warped sense of humour and we tend to really get off on a good verbal fight. (I don't know many of us that didn't play the insult game with our friends growing up)
3. We are most likely the ONLY nation in the world that can and have the right to say shit about the Americans and they will listen. I don't know how we did it but like England we earned the barbarian's respect but unlike England we have a clue what we are talking about when it concerns the good old USA. I lived in the United states for 5 years and saw more of that country then I did of Canada. While I will admit that there are some wonderful and thoughtful Americans, for the most part they are far more Neo-conservative-stupid-ignorant-rednecks. Collectively as a nation they have replaced religion with partriotism and regardless of how correct or logical of a point is made.... Americans prefer to decide the winner of most debates or arguments by bashing in each other's skulls. But as far as 9/11 is concern and the aid we gave americans.... Another thing my travels has taught me is that as a nation Canadians honestly do try to live by the golden rule. "Treat others the way you want to be treated!"

Very true... When Georgie boy was re-elected and it wasn't by a narrow margin. As far as I was concern, it spoke volumes about what the american people truely want their society to be. AND how they view the way their country should behave in the world schema.

As for Canadian goverment... Well, Paul Martin, Stephen Harper, etc. I think the minority goverment we have speak volumes of our society. Not alot to choose from and we didn't give anyone in power alot.
