I'm considering it seriously

It took me 3 months but you can do this route in two:

Fly to Bangkok.
Take train to north Thailand.
Cross into Laos and go by boat to north/Luang Prabang.
Go through south Laos and cross into Vietnam.
Head south to Saigon.
Go to Cambodia through Mekong Delta of Vietnam.
Go to Siem Reap/Angkor Wat in Cambodia via capital.
Cross back into Thailand and back to Bangkok by bus.
Go relax on the beaches in southern Thailand and northern Malaysia.

My top places are:

Japan... But Im afraid it will only be a nightmare to try to communicate and find my way around in Tokyo...

Philipinnes... Not sure how safe it is though...

Australia

It will be. I have a friend who just got back from Japan on Wednesday and he had a lot of trouble getting around in Tokyo. And he's able to read/speak some very basic Japanese.

I'd love to go to Japan one day as well, but after hearing his stories, I'd definetly learn a little Japanese first.

yeah it is safe here of course...there are only certain & isolated places where TROUBLES are usual, but definitely not in manila. its like other countries too....only particular places are considered unsafe
