I think it would be very interesting for everyone. Many providers would learn a lot if you gave us all some insight. Photo content with top quality can be found in many places but NO ONE has video quality like PerfectGonzo. I was convinced that I would find such quality at some of the leading providers but I was disappointed.

That is a style we shoot in for the European market. The perfect gonzo stuff is easy. It is just a different style of lighting. To be quite honest it is easier than what I usually do as I tend to want a more natural feel to the lighting as opposed to the over lit style of perfect gonzo.

So for now....I'm gonna keep it to myself and let PerfectGonzo get the credit that they deserve for coming up with some groundbreaking techniques that none of the rest of you thought about

Most porn is shot on 1/3 inch CCD consumer cams like the VX2000. There is a reason professionals use cameras with 2/3 inch CCds. Most likely PG are using a pro level PAL camera and they (PAL) have about 20% more resolution than NTSC cams.

Also, PAL has a different frame rate than NTSC which makes a difference to how you react to the footage even though you may not be aware of it.

In addition to PG possibly using a professional PAL camera they look like they actualy know how to use it. Most of the video you see on websites is shot with consumer cameras in full auto mode so it ends up looking like a home movie.

Also, I am sure they are color correcting in post which makes the skin tones look much much better.

Add to that the locations they use tend to not be the usual cheesy porn set that looks like a display at a discount furniture store.

And of course the Hungarian euro babes don't hurt either.

So there is one thing they are doing to make their videos look so good. They are most likey just executing an overall higher quality production than you are used to seeing.

One of the aspects of PG videos I like the most is the fact that you don't hear the camera guy asking the model stupid questions and making idiotic comments. You can here him whisper things to the model but it is under breathe so it is not nearly as annoying.

it's expensive, takes time, gotta know what ur doing, and gotta have the proper gear... they don't shoot regular format... most content companies don't know other formats and lighting and filters.. etc.....

I would have to partially disagree on that with you. Many surfers are looking to get a good product for their money. I havn´t seen a site out there which has better qulaity then PerfectGonzo. Most site trail behind in quality when it comes to PerfectGonzo. I´m just saying that if you want to sell a unique product and stand out in the crowd you should try to take on the best.

I have talked to perfectgonzo about possible shooting for them about 2 months ago.I think quality wasn't the problem to make a deal at all.
I use high-end Hedler video lighting system which delivers excellent results.I use the same cameras like they do.So basicly the result is matter of convert (very important part)
go to our models area (pass : adultczechcontent.com) and download AVI files samples (download all 4 samples).
then let me know if it matchs your idea.

OK firstly the videos are just good and can be shot by most competent videographers. This quality is usually sold to the DVD market country by country.

Problem is few on the Net will pay the price. The cameras are not $1,000 from the local store, the lighting is not cheap, the skills to use the equipment are not learned over the weekend.

So I would be selling these scenes exclusive for about $5,000 +

You can't beat the prices of content down to the ground and expect good content providers to be banging on the door. PG are moving this market forward as are Private, Hustler, Hustler and many more. As the surfer sees what others can do he will soon be growing tired of the crap others produce.

As the Net speeds up expect more companies to step into this side of the porn business with 10 years of production in their archives.

You can get this quality but you have to move up into the Video market.

Plenty of people can shoot it, go down to your local porn video store and see for yourselves. I know of two people who can shoot it living in Prague.

As for no samples, why stream something that you will not sell. The better money for the Internet is to shoot it cheap and compress it so the webmasters buy it for MPG galleries.

Start shooting this quality and the price will sky rocket and that will affect sales. Look for my thread about a guy complaining about me putting up prices $5 after 3 years.

After the raw footage is edited we are now putting everything back on tape so we can sell it to the DVE market and the Internet in the future.

BVF I used to earn 1/2 million dollars a year distributing mail order with a two man company. Until the local council closed me so maybe I do know a bit about distributing.

But you are right a lot are not worried about the quality of the product they buy. And this applies with all products. They are not worried right up to the moment when they find a higher quality for the same price. Then they change their outlook, every time a surfer sees a good porn site you lose a potential client.

its no secret - I just would love to be the first to have it here in Czech - Lot of my straigh competitors here in Czech.
Anyway I had a chance to use that camera already and can say thats it.
Of course I must do some tests with different filters and lighting set up and white balance.
Some of PG scenes are shooted outdoor and nothing compare the day light so you must compare the scenes shooted both indoor.Also always compare details scene with details scene as camera gives the best results in details not from far distance.
Anyway it seems like you know what you want to do.And its the same for me.Till now I shooted the stuff always comparing the production costs and possible profit but decided not to do this anymore.Since now I will shoot just nice girls and focuse on niche pretty hard - no matter what it costs.
Once you have a partners who are able to sell the quality stuff then it makes no difference if scene is about 1000 USD or 1500 USD.
Also I have some new convert techniques giving me AVI files in 720x576 like 14 Mb per min which is pretty good.
I will try to contact you when I have that new cam and show you results - maybe we can work something out.
Right now I am shoting some large collection of videos for 1 great sponsor and would be happy to shoot something for you.I shoot the best girls we have here for them so each girl can shoot something for you during the production day.

Great thread...... yes not everyone goes for quality some people jerk off to fuzzy trailers all day, and if you look at some of the top dvd sellers out there they don't have top notch quality like PG, but running a higher quality production online definitely sets yourself apart from the competition. I know the guys at PG and they definitely set themselves apart and thats a good thing becuz it improves the quality of the content out there overall.
