Windows Media DRM version 1.0 is supported for Mac users running Windows Media Player 6.4 or higher.
However Mac DRM does not support Individualization which is a security upgrade that occurred to the DRM a few years ago due to the FreeMe hack. Additionally the Mac DRM features are a bit limited in only post-license delivery is supported. However, the FreeMe hack was never really applied to video files so you're safe there, and 40%+ of users are already individualized so it doesn't matter much. The way mac licenses are delivered is a mac user tries to play a DRM file and a full screen browser window appears that navigates to a web page. Some unique info is passed in the querystring to that web page. The web server can then use that info to generate a license and store it via an ActiveX object. License pre-delivery won't work for Version 1 DRM so it's really only viable for Membership Websites. So the moral of the story is Mac users can play .wmv DRM files, however only if the issuer actually support Version 1 license delivery. Hit me up at the url below if you're looking to support this serverside. DJScrib

SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60. Let me repeat... A 120 x 60 button and no more that 3 lines of DEFAULT SIZE AND COLOR text. |
