Promoting Adult advertising question?

Hi, could some people here offer me some opinions and advice? I have a non-adult website that gets around 150,000 hits a day,
however advertising in the non-adult industry is stuffed and getting worse, I use to get $14 cpm, now im lucky to get 50 cents.
Id like to try and send some of this traffic to adult sites pay for sale programmes, has anyone had any experience with this....wat sort of convertion ratios could I expect?
Any advice on how best to approach this? Thanks in advance, Sally

What kind of site is it? If you post your URL we might be able to recommend some programs for you to try. One that comes to mind is Internet Eraser, it's sort of on that borderline between adult and mainstream...

Hi Sally,

Adult industry standard pay per sign-up ratios run around 1:500...and you'll find much higher payouts on the adult side of the net too.

You might want to give some of our Hustler sites a go, like Hustler.com and/or BarelyLegal.com...both convert overall at 1:250 and we payout $30.00 per sign-up (with no deductions)...and every affiliate that gets 100 or more sales in any one month (on all five sites combined of course) automatically is paid $33.00 per sign-up. Also, unlike some adult affiliate programs, every hit your server says you've sent to our FlyntDigital program shows up in your stats.

Please visit my tag-line if you would like to give us a try.

Oh, and WELCOME to GoFuckYourself and the "real" side of the net!

Albion Medical is another program that could IMHO be added to a non adult site and still get some good conversions without annoying the surfers too much.

hope you don't mind the referer code. good luck!

Try ifriends, but instead of using the adult stuff link to the fortune tellers, dating or any catagory that in some way matches your traffic.

Really think about the marketing hard, its great if you market it well.

Hi, thanks everyone for the replys, well, the site is basically a portal of several thousand pages, it covers a whole range of subjects from health to poetry. My biggest concern is once I go this way, Ill lose my non-adult advertisers as its in their contracts I cant have links to adult sites, not to mention getting flammed from some of my users, But, then money is money, and im not making any these days, sooo, adult industry is an idea, yes, some sites like albion medical could fit in well with the mens health section, I also notices maxcash offer a adult chat which should be fine as most bid sites run adult boards and chat, some bikini or celeb sites would fit in well in celeb section, other then that, ill guess ill filter traffic through a third site.
A friend of mine who does TPG`s says that traffic from my site might be golden and convert well, or, may be a complete failure, does anyone here have experience with promoting adult content from non-adult sites?
Can you give me your experience in this area and how you went?
Thanks everyone, Sally, Please feel free to email me.

to Abgirl, you said that the rario is around 1:250 ? Why my ratio is around 1:1500, and remember, my traffic is SE traffic, I paid for at least 7cents per click.

Hi Ambergirl, I had a look in facts for Hustler and it states that you cannot promote their programme on a non-adult website, but please let me know if im wrong there, im wondering if other adult sites have the same policy?
Also, thanks for replying me Ambergirl.

Sally, if you have that much traffic I'm sure you could work out a deal with your current advertisers, so that you could use them on the general pages of your site, and use adult sponsors on specific pages such as Men's Health, etc.

Hi Jack, the thing is, im really not even interested in wasting my time with non-adult industry anymore, to give you an example : I sell books, cd`s, etc with amazon, i get a lousy %5 , meaning if i sell a book for $10, i get 50 cents, and my converstion ratio with amazon is like 1-300....im sure u see my problem, another thing, the click through rates are much lower on non-adult ads, example, i changed a text on a dating site ad from "Single women and men" to "Adult love" , my click thrus on that link went from 30 a day to 400 a day....just seems people will click on links they think lead to sex content.

Singer, to be exact, our overall ratios for December so far are:
Hustler - 1:212
BarelyLegal - 1:236
Please email me your login name so I can look over your account and help you with your conversions. [email protected]

onlyreal, please email me your requested login name or the email you had signed up with. I'm not in the compliance department but I would be happy to look into it for you.

Sally, the non-adult clause is in there for sites that promote to children (i.e. Disney, etc.) where we would expect to get a steady stream of minors.

If your traffic is not underage, we certainly welcome it.

If you don't want to go full blown into the adult thing, but still want something that will attract some attention, then check out T-Shirt Hell. Their product is raunchy enough to get people to click, but not so hardcore that you'll get a shitload of hatemail.
http://www.tshirthell.com/cgi-bin/af...gi?id=evildick

They sell funny and offensive t-shirts that are always topical. You make $4 per shirt, which is alot better than Amazon commissions. And I doubt you'll find a "I fucked Osama's Mama" t-shirt on Amazon.
